    Random observations on voles:

Weather plays a factor, Most are caught on rainy night's

Glue trap is shit, snap traps all the way

Work with your neighbours, buy a box of traps and give them some

The lawn trenches they ate through is damn hard to patch

    Week 1 - 2
    Week 2 - 1
    .
    Week 4 - 1
    .
    Week 6 - 1

Ending on a positive, nice clean kill last night.

So did I. Wife did not appreciate. Now I'm trying to trap a fucking gopher. He even got under my basketball net base.

I flushed him put and its under my damn stairs. Trap is set. Will report back with corpse.

Trapping a gopher might be even funnier than the squirrel.

Back when I was a kid, we used to snare gophers by hand with twine. I think that falls outside of acceptable behaviour now.

We tried on our own for two weeks to get rid of these cocksuckers with baits and traps and still had new holes almost daily so we had a company come out called Lavellan Pest Solutions. He set his own bait and put his own poison through problem areas (under the deck) and we haven't had any new activity a week after he came. He has done a follow up and moved the bait and will be available to us for another 90 days in case we need another solution or more poison placed under our deck.

It was pricy ($300) but not having these assholes wreak havoc in our back yard was well worth the cost.

I Have a pocket gopher, I've lost a couple of trees and asparagus patch. I have the gopherhawk but haven't been successful, I talked the pest guy going door to door today and said they're hard to get rid of. I have a puppy and what other options should I consider before calling in the pro's ?

A pocket gopher? Put a ham wallet outside. While the pocket gopher is trying to stuff itself into the ham wallet, you should be able to take care of it pretty easily.

Same. I only snared a couple though, I got a .22 when I was around 6, snaring was pretty lame after that.

.22 is a great thing for a kid. I didn't have one. I think that's why I am the way I am now. Or that's what I tell my therapist.

Something has been setting traps off for a few weeks. Finally got one yesterday and turned out to be a mouse. Voles in winter and mice in summer, my home is officially a dump.

For those curious, they look really different. I thought it was a baby vole before looking it up.

I think the most distinctive feature is the big ears on a mouse. Yeah, i fyour yard has voles, it's likely there are mice around too. They are incredibly common. I know I have mice, and it's a constant battle with them.

We've kept traps out in the front yard and now have a puppy creating havoc in the backyard but haven't caught anything since mid-April.

Caught my third Mole in 2 years at my place. These buggers will absolutely destroy your lawn. Went 5 months since the last one was caught and this one is easily half the size. My guess is the first two were the mom and dad this must be the kid. Hopefully the last of them.

Anyone have success getting rid of gophers?

might try this stuff from UFA, was reclassified last year as ground squirrel and pocket gopher control.

    https://www.ufa.com/yard-garden-home...ait-20-lb-pail

Have tried a few smoke bombs, neighbour got the pest control company out to poison, but we have a bunch of empty lots beside us, and back onto a pond so they have tons of free land to retreat to and always seem to come back. Holes under the driveway, rear concrete walkout deck, side of house etc
