Sounds like you don't live too far away from me. I have yet to ever see a mole in the yard/area but Voles a plenty. They destroy near driveways/patios/flower beds that they can tunnel to.

I'd like to say I've probably let off between 16-20 sulphur sticks this entire season. Everytime I think they are gone 2 weeks will go by and another hole pops up. But it is definitely an improvement over the 50+ holes that I had before. All that work on the bowtrail/85th i'm sure has disturbed a bunch of them behind my house.
I am in the same area off 73rd and 9th Ave and getting lots of voles already tearing up the yard. I have been clearing out the No Frills lately of all of their steel wool patching vole holes under my driveway and deck! Agreed though, with all the development around, I think its going to be a BAD winter with lots of vole damage!

Start setting traps along your fence/driveway/foundation walls. And try to convince your neighbors to do the same. I usually put out those little poison boxes too but I'm ruthless (and dont have any outdoor pets).

bought some traps on amazon, caught a few and dropped them off by the train tracks by the old Greyhound station. baited with a bit of PB. Haven't seen any since. Money well spent!

Couple years ago we use the Victor basic traps with PB and caught a couple. Didn't notice them again until this spring. Couple weeks ago while mowing one crossed my path. I have noticed a bigger hole by my shed and the other day noticed new tracks. Once this rain stop I will put out the two traps with PB. Also got one electric trap and some glue trap (although some think they are not strong enough to hold the creatures). Will see how that will go. Might go get some "the Giant destroyer" and put bubble gum, crap, peppermints down the holes. I do have a small dog so not sure about poison yet.

Mother fucking voles have decimated our front lawn in our new house. Snow is still melting but it’s a disaster. Must be dozens of holes with a nest burrowed in the middle of the yard.

Going to start with 30 traps and poison.

This is the 2nd spring since I had the foam pumped into the void under our porch and front steps. No sign of the voles. Still have some in the backyard but I'll set up the bucket filled with water mousetrap that was made popular on youtube

That's also the best way to capture them for culinary reasons too. Bet they are tasty enough and we'll all need these tricks once society falls apart.

I haven’t been to my house in Calgary since December but I decided to check the camera today and noticed the snow was gone!...I also noticed how those little fuckers have been camping in my front yard.

I had a concrete lifting company come over and pump it in. It's a hot foam that expands to fill voids and it's really dense and the voles can't chew through it.

You paid someone to fill you voids with a hot, thick, foamy substance?

Less kinky than having voles in your holes.

    Anyone use these?

    https://www.homehardware.ca/en/4-pac...ator/p/5442125

We have a gopher problem in our new build, digging under our driveways etc. It doesn't help our next door neighbour has a bird feeder that overflows and attracts all the rabbits/gophers.

    Good luck to me...

Are you just using regular mouse traps, like Victor? I thought these vermin might be too small to get killed by those.
