I have two rollers with bearings if anyone wants to try the killing bucket. You just need to get screws, nuts and maybe washers. I bought a kit of 3 but I only need 1 but haven't tried it yet cause looks like they are gone for now.

That is nasty. Forget traps, just walk on it and you’ll crush a few. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You probably have not seen grass since you moved in. I’m guessing that must be a few years of cumulated damage. Otherwise that is a nasty infestation.
Yea lawn has been frozen and covered in snow until now.
The back isn’t anywhere near as bad as the front.
My guess is accumulated damage at this point, the layer of thatch is embarrassing.
Going to run a thatcher over it on the weekend and see what I am dealing with.

I definitely empathize, we moved into our house in December, ground covered in snow. Backyard was absolute havoc in the spring. It’s been two years now and slowly getting things under control... but it doesn’t help both my neighbours have bird feeders/ seed everywhere...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Don't these fucking things get Vole-Rona Virus?!??
How can I give it to them?
Can you gas them out?
Using carbon monoxide poisoning seems like an easy and cost effective idea...
Create a fitting to a hose to your exhaust, similar to this?

But what if you have a car that was built after, oh I dunno, 1987 and has more than one perfectly round exhaust pipe? I've got dual oblong trapezoid shape, or quad oval. Honest question, btw. I have mice in my yard and want to try this; caught a dozen in traps last year, but I'm sure there'll be more.
I dont think you can gas them out of grass? They dont make tunnels per-say in the grass, they just eat tracks of grass and make nests under snow banks.
If they burrow under a stair or driveway then maybe you could gas them out?
I tried this and no dice. Plugged all holes I could find and ran the car for like 10-15 minutes. Did this several times over a few days and tried different holes. I may have killed some, but there was still lots after. You may have better luck than me though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I had a few traps set in the house and garage. Relocated them to the front yard where most of the mayhem is. Will see what I catch.

What's the process to fix the grass thats been infested with vole tracks? Rake, put some seed down, water, wait?
Going to try and block off all the entrances/gaps to my backyard to try and keep them out, which I'm surprised by as there really is only one under the gate as its not flush with the ground.
I use Scotts Easy Seed. Its a mixture of seed, fertilizer and some super absorbent dirt/mulch shit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Easier and quicker then just grass seed and dirt (which you can also do).
Night 1 - 12 snap traps, 4 glue pads
Result
Snap - 2/12
Glue - 0/4
I'm making 2 killing buckets for the backyard today. The foam that I used to plug up the holes in the front is still going strong these season. What's the best thing to use for bait? Peanut butter with some quaker oats? Honey nut cheerios?
^ First try was on creamy peanut butter, will rotate when it slows down. I read PB and Oats, and PB and Bacon Fat works too. Those will be next.
Day 2 of the killing bucket. Zero voles caught but all the peanut butter is gone from the roller. It's licked spotless with no trace of anything left. So either the voles are able to walk onto the rolling pin and eat it without falling to into the water, or some other asshole is eating it. Right now, the suspects are the 5 squirrels that have suddenly appeared in my backyard or the next door neighbours kid.

6 well bated traps have been out for a week for me.
Not a bite.
I’m kindof praying at this point that the evidence is due to lack of cleanup from years past ( not shocking to me ) and I don’t actually have voles.
