Default Furnace fuse - lennox ‘E’ type - tonight

So my nest was complaining it had equipment detected but no power.

Check downstairs, breakers good, pop open furnace and no lights on the control board, check fuse, and it’s dark and crispy.

Cant seem to find anything open tonight, anyone know what might be open tonight? Google-fu is striking out.

Taking the kids to the MILs and Ill just let the servers keep things livable tonight until something opens tomorrow if I dont have any options.

Happy new years/birthday to me! /s

Can you describe the fuse a little more?

Might be too late now that it's past 8 PM and a holidya, but any auto parts store should have that.
Or and hardware store, or Wal-mart.

    - - - Updated - - -

wal-mart should be open until 9 PM.

Ask some car buddies if they have some fuses in their garage or steal one from an older car.

Did you find anything last night? I did look through my stuff, but most of my fuses are out at my trailer.
Parts stores should be open 8AM today I'd think. NAPA or anywhere should carry these fuses, they are super common ATC type.

Be interesting to see if it blows again. Don't think that's a common problem, but shit happens.

Electricity isn't my strong suit, but that's just a car style fuse? Gas stations or truck stops would probably have some.

Fuses are for the weak. Just throw in a jumper wire in there next time.

Put a similar amperage one in. If it pops, go a bit higher but not too crazy, if that pops you've got a short elsewhere that needs tracing.

Tinfoil to bridge the gap! MacGyver style. Bubble gum to hold it in place.

They definitely do. Common car ones are 5, 10, 15, 20. 3 is very low. But in a pinch, if all looks ok I would go 10 to get the house warm.

Most newer cars use the smaller mini or micro fuse not the ATO size.

In a pinch you can use two male spade connectors with some wire and use any fuse size you have lying around.

    Been a day!
Went to Canadian Tire, only fuse they had was (5) 3A in a box of 40 with an assortment of 5,10,20,30A fuses. Anyone want 27 fuses, lol!

Swapped fuse, reset breaker, flipped power switch, no lights, fuck. Reset breaker and switch a second time, double checked wires, still nothin, so broke down and called Action Furnace. Buddy threw 2” of teflon tape on the furnace door switch and 3-5s later the control board light came back on and furnace fired up. Double fuck, i assumed the lights would come back on after the fuse swap and resetting the breaker, but it looks like it needed to be held closed a bit longer than i was holding it to reset.

Even taking the tape off after didnt reset in the LEDs going off.

In the end a bit of stress worrying it was going to be costly or a long repair, but it all worked out and only cost $50 in diagnostics and then $30 for the worlds most eclectic fuse box.

I had held the door switch down a few seconds in my testing, but kept releasing it to check other things. Tech

Glad it's all working, and it wasn't an expensive fix. An annoying resolution, but a resolution nonetheless.

Pick up a spare flame sensor and spare ignitor. Worth it now when it's -30 and not firing up, it'll be a quick ish fix.
The LED's usually give out codes so you'd know what to change or post here and guys are pretty good at diagnostic remotely.

Don't need to be too tool savvy to replace those items.
Ignitor is harder to access on mine but both are a unplug one wire and one screw holding them in place.
I've gotten away with emery cloth on the flame sensor for years too. It carbons up and a quick rub. Good as new.

Yup. Woke up this morning to my furnace blowing cold. I need to do that part myself.

No. It was waking up in the morning and doing a quick rub to get warmed up.
