I still have PTSD from a 6 month battle with mice in my old house... What a pain in the ass those dickheads are.

I was chatting to my neighbor last night and he said that every fall he sprays this vole deterrent solution on his grass (much like the solution you spray to get rid of the dandelions in spring) and he hasnt had a problem since he started using it 2 years ago.

Its called mole & vole repellant from a brand called I must garden.

    https://www.imustgarden.com/repellen...vole-repellent

You can buy it on amazon

Not voles, but I laid out two mouse traps last night in my shed and caught two beauties this morning. The one is a real fatso, fucking guy was probably going to get a heat attack if the snap didn't kill him. I don't stress about having mice in my yard, but I like to keep the infestation to a dull roar.

I'm going to have to look into this. Vole damage from this winter was the worst I have had yet at this house. Front and back just massive areas completely eaten up where the snow piles were the largest.
Bought some traps so will put those out in the mean time.

After all this time, I've caught one and that too seemed quite small. Also, it had been eaten from the bottom half, I am guessing some birds had a go at it as I hadn't gone out for some time to inspect them. But yea, just one so far....not sure what that means.

Was 2/2 that night, then 1/2 the night after and 0/2 as of this morning. Probably take a break for a week or two.

The big ones are the mothers. Those are the ones you want to catch.

I have 2 cats and the neighbours have a dog. And my parents and brother have dogs.

I can always go put away the traps. Finding all the dead voles would be trickier.

I’m not against it by any means, and might get there one there ( have considered dropping some
Poison down the holes ). For now it seems unnecessary though.

Will admit though, the traps are very more satisfying and positive confirmation that I am doing something.

Anyone on beyond have an acreage or land and access to UFA pesticide?

    https://ufa.com/Yard%2C-Garden-%26-H...-Bag/p/1083879

Looking to get this stuff as I think its what the pest control guys charge $250-$300 to use. Willing to pay for it and only take half or split it.

We have caught voles, and recently a mouse. We have seen gopher/prairie dog around. Today we have magpies hanging around near our yard. Went outside and realized a trap caught a bird.

If it caught a magpie, I think you get a blowjob from a porn star. That's a highly desirable outcome.

This is pretty much like winning the lottery.

    Off topic Trivia:

In 1952 Alberta sprayed 140,000 pounds of arsenic trioxide at the Sask border to stop a handful of rats.
    Cocoa $10,000 per ton.
