The one I linked is the Wave Plus.

It also monitors TVOCs, CO2 and Pressure.

I'm using the airthings home. Got it for $150 from home depot. Previously had levels around 400, after mitigating they're down to about 20.

Let me know what you think.
I'm on day 2 of calibration. Went from AQ being bad to AQ is Fair. Currently at 140. Wonder if it will keep dropping.

Mine would fluctuate from <100 to >400 within a day or 2 anytime of the year so it's really hard to predict in short term. I had mine for over a year now. The overall trend is lower in summer ~100 and higher in winter >200. That makes sense with the house vented more.

Just curious for those who've had their radon mitigated (with a fan) and have continuous monitoring like airthings wave, how are your levels after the mitigation? Do still experience spikes of less than 100 bq/m3?

Which fans do you have the rn1, 2, 3 or 4?

    Thanks

Smallest fan, avg 33 since mitigation. Was 655 before mitigation. I do see spikes from time to time (usually when it warms up and the furnace does not run for extended periods). Never spikes over 100 though.

Thanks that's good to know. I just got my mitigation installed about 2.5 weeks ago. My levels averaged around 205 before mitigation over the 3 months from Nov 2020 to Feb 2021 (but I've seen it spike to 320 sometimes). After mitigation it dropped to below 10, but over the course of the 2.5 weeks, I've seen spikes between 20 and 90 Bq/m3 (but average is 33 over 2.5 weeks), so I just wanted to know if this is a normal thing or if I should upgrade my fan. Right now its the smallest one at Rn1, and I was thinking of putting in the RN4-EC (the biggest fan they have) and then use the speed control to dial it down to between an Rn1 to Rn2 fan speed. But, before I do this, I just wanted to know what is expected after mitigation, and if spiking is a normal thing.

My radon mitigation installer said to ignore the daily fluctuations and spikes, its the long term average that's important. He's probably right, but I've never done this before so I don't know what is considered normal.

Picked up a Wave on Black Friday. I had it in the basement for part of the first day before moving it to my main living area upstairs (per manufacturer and Canada Gov recommendations*). Still in calibration mode but it seems to be floating around 50-70 Bg/m3 upstairs. The first day readings in the basement were around 150 Bq/m3. After I finish my upstairs testing in a few months I'll move it back down to the basement to re-check there.

I ended up getting an Airthings detector.

Looks like i am getting pretty stable readings at 150. Thats in my basement and upstairs. Not really liking the sounds of that.

You're concerned because it's within acceptable limits?

How long have you let it sit for?

Acceptable as far as Health Canada, yes.

Acceptable limits by WHO is 100, so danger zone can be 100+ technically as per https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...ncer-1.4045872

So ill have to do some research and see if that is truly 'dangerous' over long terms

Let reading settle down for 2 weeks too. Daily fluctuations are very normal.

That's the equivalent of walking past someone smoking a cigarette. You a dead man walking.

That's how mine was. Around 144 in the basement and around the same in other parts of the house based on my Airthings detector. I chose to get a system installed and now it's kicking around 10 to 15 in the basement only (I haven't really moved the detector around lately)

Why did you get a system? I think I just read that the established, safe limit is 200. You were under the limit by 28%
