    Default car detailing (polishing, waxing,etc)

With summer around the corner this question always seems to come up. Where do you take your car for its yearly power polish.

Last couple years I've used Jed @ Mobile Reflections but @ $900 I can't continue to justify his work. It's good but not $900 good. With that said where are you guys taking your cars? I need a basic stage 1 or stage 2 power polish done on my car.

    Recommendations? What did you pay?

Mobile Reflections is done. Jed works for Porsche now, so you might want to check their prices.

Why on earth was it costing you $900 anyways? I think the most I spent with him was $750, which included polishing and interior on a pretty large wagon.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Maybe he milked me? It was maybe a 2 stage exterior and full interior detail on my C6 Z06.......

Ah, probably the 2 stage then. I only need single stage. Really though, once you have a 2 stage done, you shouldn't need another polishing for a quite a long time. Unless you like using car-wash brushes.

yeah, 2-stage every single year seems excessive.

I just picked up all the supplies to do a polish myself. Cost around $300. Will post results after I do the polish on Saturday.

You could take it to porsche? I am sure they would still do it and it would be the same guy. Likely cheaper.

I can't imagine anything getting cheaper being run through a Porsche dealer

I might bring the car by once the roads are swept for a quick quote. Should I call ahead?

Rainer owns that place. He used to run a shop that I took my e92 M3 too and it was brutal work. Ruined my 3M and burnt the paint off my door handles with the polisher.

Shine Revolution is what it was called.

edit - It appears his quality of work has changed based on reviews and some forum feedback. Maybe i'll give it a shot again.

Just had Jed do my wife's XC90R at Porsche. Prices were very competitive and the work was top notch. Had Suntek and Opti Coat Pro+ put on and the car looks great.

    No shit.

Will never have my car service there again. Also will never buy a car from them either. That's okay because I no longer can afford it but watch if I become baller status again...hahaha

The only reasonable/good service adviser is Chandie Fox, no comment on the other two bros.

With that said, Jed is the man. NOthing but praise for that dude. Another option is to PM gpomp. He does it on the side and detailed my 911 a couple years back. Gpomp is good guy.

+1 for gpomp, he's done 4 cars for me and his work is top notch. He's mobile so you dont have to go out of your way to go to a shop or anything... he'll come to you.
