    Heads up. I didn't know this and have to file an amendment now.
    This is just the first step to taxing cap gains on your principle residence.

    They will not tax cap gains on your principal residence (yet). What they are doing is closing that massive loophole where every fucker with a second property never paid tax on it because they made it their "primary" residence for a couple of months by having the utility bill sent there in their name.

    I'm actually surprised they're doing this as politicians take advantage of this loophole all the time.

    Eventually they will tax cap gains on primary, when it exceeds a certain amount.

    I was in interior BC last week. Was surprised the Christy serving the 1% campaign is working.

    But then again, interior is seeing 10% unemployment much like Calgary.
    None of the Vancouver action is moving inwards, only money. They may want change.
