They have been camping this spot almost daily for the last month or so. Fucking brutal as there is absolutely no way to see them. Also with the speed changes and it jumping to 70 a block up its nothing but money in the bank for them.
Every time I see them there they are parked on the left side of the side street and stick out quite a bit. The Ford Explorers do anyways. Those Explorers with the crap on the roof run a weak as hell K-Band. I took the opportunity to do a couple passes by one and my V1 would only go off when I was passing within 2 lanes of it. So I assume those Explorers park on the left side of the side street because their range is limited.

Just a theory but I tend to stick to the far left lanes these days. Blew by one of those Explorers when in the far left lane on a 3 lane road. No ticket. No flash. Totally should have been but nadda.

Theyre so sneaky now. I was coming down sarcee trail and noticed photo radar catching people going uphill right after you get on sarcee from 16. They were parked behind bushes and like rage2 spot impossible to see if your in their path. Excuse the shitty drawing but they were parked at the yellow circle, its a construction zone too
I was driving the other way and noticed it so on the way back I knew to slow down a bit haha otherwise would have gotten hit for sure

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this theory, I've only had a super weak K band show up very rarely with my Max2 and wondered if they were only set-up for speeders in the far right lane when I've seen them on Stoney Trail NW.

Also, I've seen them on the off ramp from SB Deerfoot going onto 16th Ave, pointed down towards Deerfoot in kind of a precarious spot haha.

That's absolutely the case. Wondering why they would run a weak k-band. Hide from radar detectors maybe but everyone turns off K-Band in the city because of the false alerts. No gain from running weak K-Band. But it occurred to me that when I see those Explorers they don't have an officer in the driver's seat. The trucks, which run a strong Ka-Band, do. My theory being the Explorers are like mobile speed cameras that you can plant in a spot all day and, due to the weak K-Band, run them all day without draining the battery. The trucks run a strong Ka-Band, they work mobile and need someone in them apparently. Maybe they need to be manned due to the battery draining if left all day cranking out a strong signal without the engine idling.

Either way, those explorers are a god send. Just stick to the left lane and you don't need to pay attention to every SUV parked on the side of the road

Can't you report the photo radar SUV on Crow/3rd for parking by a fire hydrant?

Well it's not even a parking spot, but technically you're not parking if you're in the car anyways.

I keep seeing photo radar in the mornings on eastbound mission road approaching macleod trail. 40 zone so it's super easy to get nabbed, I've watched it flash every day this week.

Seen them under the bridge. Driving Southbound on Crowchild trail after you pass the Memorial Dr turn off, right before you enter the construction zone and go up on the bridge. My guess is that they're aimed right where the speed drops to construction zone speeds.

They are there every single day that I've driven through there that the road conditions are decent, including the middle of the night when no work is going on and the conditions are identical to pre-construction. It's been an explorer every time I've seen it.

Got hit by one earlier this week apparently, new for me. 7am Monday going westbound on Memorial Dr, right before crossing Edmonton Tr north. The high angle looking down means he was either parked on the bridge or there's a new green light camera I haven't noticed...

It’s a new camera at the intersection. Went in a few weeks ago I think.

Yeah, first the City made the announcement they were reducing the speed there from 70 to 50 because of the claimed extraordinarily high amount of accidents at that intersection. Then came the camera.

No, but it might as well be. Swinging through downtown and hitting the lights right us often quicker and certainly a bit more satisfying. Nothing like going WB on 4th and just cruising through downtown without hitting a single red light.
    Will fuck off, again.

Yes the memorial/edmonton trail camera just went up recently...I drive through there every morning and I'm paranoid one of these days I'll be absent minded.

Very generous! My schedule these days is really flexible so makes it worthwhile to do it myself but what a sweet service to offer!

Saw this location for multinova camera SUV on Saturday night.
16th Ave and 1st st NE. By Peter's drive in and Mopac.
    You'll only see the flash.

That whole stretch from Deerfoot until North Hill mall is a nightmare. The parking lot of the NAPA often has one early in the morning on weekends.
