Snoozefest. I'll eat my words about Bottas, good job on the 1st race win!
He helped Lewis a lot by taking 1st. If only Mercedes could get both cars setup right, we might actually see these team mates race each other.

Good win for Bottas.. I thought he might bottle it but he kept his cool.

I feel sorry for Alonso.. Did not even start.. Russian Babuska was too much for the engine..
Its a joke. He's a great driver, we want to see him race.
Mclaren really need to decide if having free engines is worth the bad image this creates for them. I mean at least start and finish the race?

Lewis needs to up him game.. off my 33 seconds. Did he even eat his Weetabix in the morning?

No overtaking after the first lap..? wtf?

I think Alonso goes to Renault to replace Palmer next year.
McLaren will go back to Mercedes power and Suaber will take on the Honda project.

Just wish Renault would catch up so Red Bull could make this year a 3 team battle.

Edit: the Sauber/Honda deal is done: http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/124...2018-f1-season

I really hope alonso ends up in a proper semi-competitive car. I think he should replace perez in a FI.

Pretty boring race imo. Best part was valtteri's post race radio
    Red Bull issues again
    Mclaren issues but no surprise
Sauber moving to honda is weird based on those awesome engines
Grosjean and Palmer, would have preferred they didn't crash
    Stroll finishes a race
    Funny kimi on the radio
Ferrari waited ten years to pit seb, seemed kind of dumb especially when he was heading into traffic

Sochi highlights the problems with current F1. So boring! Even the pit stops failed to deliver any overtaking. After lap 1, was there a single on-track pass?

IMHO Vettel was never going to pass Bottas. Catching up to DRS range is one thing, making the pass and getting it to stick are very different.

I don't find it too boring as a whole as I think as we get into more exciting tracks, it could liven up a bit. That is probably true but It would still have been entertaining to watch

From what I saw, outside of the bottas launch passes, there were no overtakes. Really showed the gap in between the cars though when the front 4 were how far ahead of 5 and then there was a solid gap between everyone else resulting in no passing.

So is this the kind of racing that the average F1 fan wants? No passes and follow the leader kind of stuff? How interesting is it for the drivers, one would think that they are frustrated by a race such as this as well. - really, what was the point of everything after the first lap if there were no passes?

On the flip side, there was that race in Richmond this weekend where the guy who started in the 38th and last position won the race. And two team mates smashed into each other by accident. And where the race leader snookered the guy behind him into taking a pit road penalty on a yellow that stuck him at the rear of the field on the restart, he sure was pissed at the end of the race for getting snookered so badly, cost him quite a few points and a chance at winning the race. Passes/overtakes - probably at least 300, maybe even more than 400.

Sochi track is always boring. Glad to see the 2 F drivers on the podium. Class act from Vettel, Hamilton would have just whined about not being first.

Pretty boring race, after lap one could have just turned it off and had the same result.

Too bad after the last race was pretty good.

    I noticed that too.

I remember at the very first race there Lewis seemed to snub him.
Then the 2nd year back he seemed to go out of his way to greet him.

I wonder what was said behind closed doors...
