Has anyone driven from here to Kelowna in the last week or so? I have to go next weekend and I'm wondering if the summer car / summer tires are fine now or should I be taking the truck?

Must use winter tires until April 30 as per bc law.

What is the legal requirement for winter tires?
Both the all-season Mud and Snow (M+S) tires and the 3-peaked mountain/snowflake tires meet the legal requirements for winter tire designation in B.C. In all cases, a winter tire must be in good condition, with a minimum tread depth of 3.5 mm (5/32”).

Summer car and tires will be fine. Driving the r8 back that way next week
I go back and forth Calgary to Kelowna weekly. Never know what may happen through the rogers pass but I'd say your safe. I've been running my summers the last 3 weeks.
There's a shit ton of webcams along the routes on the highways you can find online...
But like everyone else says, be careful cuz things can change super quick!

So the tldr here is this: summer tires should be fine, except sometimes they aren't, and if they are true summers, then they are illegal until April 30.

Damn it, I really don't want to take the truck but the forecast for Rogers Pass is calling for flurries on Sunday and we won't be coming back until late into the evening.

I am all for summer tires. But if that road is going to see snow and ice then that’s definitely a no go.
Also you would have to really piss off a cop to get nabbed for running summer tires. It’s not like they car check unless the vehicle is stopped.

I'm going out to Fernie on Sunday and I'll be doing it on all seasons
All the road look bone dry according on the cams on drivebc

I'm not quite to Kelowna, but the roads are decent out here. It's been raining all weekend and the light snow overnight disappears pretty quickly. When i'm back in Alberta over Easter weekend i'll be swapping to the summers.

Road was bone dry once we got 30 minutes out of Calgary this morning. Should have brought the other car.
