Truck races are better than Cup, today was a great example of that. Big win for Chastain, and Sauter coming back out on the track to smash into Hill was perfect.

Chastain was disqualified after his truck failed it's post race inspection, race win was taken away. Sounds like a ride height violation - some speculation of parts may have been engineered to wear a bit more than they should have.

Goddamnit. It's hard not to like Chastain, I was so pumped that he won today.

Old news but NASCAR teams are using different paint schemes to try to outfox the laser measuring system - http://kickinthetires.net/index.php/...aser-weakness/
Is it cheating or playing within the rules?

I don't think it's cheating, and apparently NASCAR, the ones supposedly being cheated, didn't think so either. I think everyone should be working to find areas where there's potential for an advantage.

NASCAR's been busy, confiscated a whole truck from the truck racing series. Not a part of the truck but the whole thing which is quite extraordinary, NASACAR isn't saying anything yet but something major was found in that particular truck, enough so to not allow it on the track.
NASCAR also issued a L1 penalty/fine to a Xfinity team for illegal body modifications, no mention yet of what was found. Some speculation that NASCAR is just laying down the law before the playoffs start so as to send message to all the teams.

Charlotte Roval today, last race for the first round of the playoffs.

I thought the Xfinity race yesterday was pretty boring, but today's race was decent.
I have fuckin had it with Rick Allen. The consensus is that NBC does a better job than FOX, but that guy is the absolute worst that anyone has ever been at anything.

It just wouldn't be Talladega without at least one car sailing through the air...

Is that the guy that pulled the ‘Lightning McQueen’ and landed back on his wheels? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Hah, Brendan Gaughan was the driver of this car and in an interview after this incident he said that he didn't quite stick the landing. He did land right side up though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Talladega was the first time in a long time that the Cup race was better than the trucks. The truck race was pretty dull.

Honda coming to NASCAR soon? Lots of stuff happening behind the scenes, https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cu...honda/4571338/

Playoffs in racing, I though it be the biggest joke ever when NASCAR went this route but it has been a wild success. This weekend's race at Martinsville exhibited that with ridicously high tension in both playoff and non-playoff drivers alike. Fights on pit road, guys bashing on each other on the track, threats of future stuff to happen, even team mates beating on each other on the track. Two more races for seven drivers to get to the big final race, some pretty much have to wn to get in, it's gonna be tense.

#10's spotter telling him to wreck #18 if he has to. No mincing words there.

2020 Busch Clash winner's car, not much left of the aero, lots of tape though...
Just the wrecks...
Like every year, I am looking forward to the truck race.
The Clash was so boring. I'd like to tune in to a car race and see cars racing. If Fox' telemetry is worth anything, I saw 208mph from someone in the draft. High draft speeds like that are not a good sign for good racing. I've been watching old races on Youtube from the 80s and 90s the last couple weeks, and they've been a lot more entertaining to watch than modern races (although nostalgia could play into that). They're 190-195mph in the draft and about the same 185mph or so out of it, so there's not such a big penalty in taking a chance to make a pass.
I guess that's more or less what the modern truck series is. Probably 400-550hp, 195mph or so in the draft and 185mph or so out of the draft. Better racing, shorter length, at night, more fun.

NASCAR is back, no fans in the seats, 10 races in the last 15 days of May. Lots of restrictions with respect to the teams. Kenseth is back in Larson's ride. The PVR will be busy.
