Default Application to Interview to Offer Ratio

Long time reader, first time poster!
I'm an EIT and a couple of years Oil&Gas experience with an operator plus 2 years of Co-op experience. Interested in Finance and working on my Level 1 CFA right now. Laid off since fall last year and haven't had much luck.

Just curious what is the Application to Interview to Offer Ratio for you guys?

Mine is probably 200+ to 8 to 0. I have been getting some interviews lately but no offer yet Have been practicing my interview skills but this is a tough market...sign

These days with the job market how it is, most job postings are getting a minimum of 100 reasonably qualified applicants. So a very low interview to application ratio is to be expected.

After that, if you do get an interview that's a great sign! However, for junior positions they are probably interviewing a dozen candidates.

For more senior positions, they may interview only five or six.

I'm in the same boat EIT with a few years experience. I probably haven't sent as much applications but I find I'm striking out a lot in interviews. It's tough because employers can be picky, if you have 4-5 out of the 6 skills they need, in a normal market you'd be taken. But it's so competitive, they can set 8 or 9 skills they "need" and can probably get it from the amount of applications.

Don't be discouraged, if you're getting interviews it means you're doing something right. If you want to practice interview prep, let me know.

Also, I'm gonna be studying for December CFA level 1, so if you need a study buddy let me know

Different field of work not impacted by oil, Land Use Planning, but I am semi-actively looking. Over the past three years I average 20 applications to 1 interview.
