Is that a euphemism for sex? JK, here's to you bouncing back.

    Well, yeah.

I know there are a lot of stay-at-home Mom type client's I could take on during the day time if I get laid off. I hear they're more enjoyable clients to deal with than the fat hags I'm used to shagging in the evening.

Funny, a friend of mine finally found a new job last month after looking for a couple of years. Salaries are still pretty high, although not ludicrous I suppose. The company apologized for the compensation because it was 30% less than what they used to pay for the position, but it still ended up being almost six figures.

As ExtraSlow said its just Wood now. Wood Group Mustang was a division of Wood group when they bought Mustang, it was their oil and gas division.

AMEC bought Foster Wheeler a few years back for a huge sum then basically sold to cover their debt. Every quarter since before the FW deal they have been told "layoffs are coming" and sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't. Now that they are officially Wood (with legal entity name changes in the works), a bunch of the groups within the North American team have been told that they will be going to a reduced work week coming up. Typically around christmas they are told the office is closed for two weeks so they can choose to either use two of their weeks of vacation or take unpaid time off. I'll never ever understand that.

When I first graduated working for a consulting company like AMECFW or Golder seemed like it would be a sweet gig with tons of exposure to different things, but the stress of working for a company where it they make you feel like your employment could be day to day is so stressful and I'm not even the one getting a paycheck from them!

Contractors make big $$$ so as long as you're proactive, build a rainy day fund, you can give zero fucks when you get the boot haha. Works well if they're DINK too.

4% pay cut, that's what it means if you want to take vacations other than those 2 weeks.

Cve has done a few layoffs relating to people not acquired with the properties they are disposing.
