Default what do you guys think about this...

I have the chance to buy an 07 335 that needs some suspension work and a key for a good price, I haven't gone too far into it yet but I'm wondering if anyone has insight on cost to let's say, replace the front suspension, control arms and maybe shocks and get a key from bmw.

I'll do the work myself as it will be a project. at what price point is it not worth fixing. this may not be he only issues with it but it apparently runs well.

I know, kinda vague, sorry lol

N54 335's are just from my own experience.

I hope you're getting this thing for next to nothing and then fixing and flipping.

A couple struts shouldn't be more than a few hundred. I think a full bushing kit with control arms is around 600-700.

You could probably get more detailed pricing on the AB BMW Facebook group or one of the N54 forums.

ya it'll probably be a flip. I have a chance to make some money on it so we will see what happens. I'm going to get the vin to see what it pulls up.

do people on here still get free car proof?

    Coupe or sedan?

New key from BMW will probably be at least $250 or more. I bought one from the dealer 3-4 years ago and it was around $220.

'07 would be a smart key wouldn't it? I would bank on 3x that if that is the case. Replacement smart key for my Lexus was almost $700 all in from the dealer (I was able to find new OEM parts on ebay after some lengthy searches though to save some money).

My feeling is that buying a 10 year old 335 that has probably been heavily abused its entire life is not worth it. If the seller could fix it for a reasonable price and flip it for more, he would be. The only difference would be labor cost I guess if you're doing the work yourself, but there are several reasonably priced third party BMW mechanics in the city so nobody would be paying dealer rates. Also I'm not sure if you need any BMW calibration equipment for suspension work, diagnostics, etc. that can only be found at dealers.

I have a feeling suspension will be the first fix of many on that car. Lots of issues with those early 335's.

I imagine you're right, and he should check it over as well as possible.

With that said, he says he wants to flip it so as long as it is roadworthy and he knows exactly what needs to be done with the suspension and how bad the damage truly is (which it doesn't sound like to be honest) it doesn't have to be perfect.
