Default Delayed luggage : air Canada

Had a connecting flight to travel NYC but air Canada didn't put my luggage on the same flight. All I had was my wallet and medication with me in my murse.

They finally delivered it the next day at midnight but I had to go out and buy some esstials like, contact solution,q tips, toothbrus, underwear, socks, a shirt, pair of pants. Everything totalled to around 350 Canadian but when I first talked to the air Canada rep they offered 100 USD and to submit my receipts when I returned.

My question is if anyone had their luggage delayed and tried to get air Canada to pay for more than 100usd? Is it worth it? I also have td first class visa as well that I could claim as well.

If you booked on a TD First Class Visa, they should provide you with (I believe) $500 towards trip delay.

If it was a business trip, I can understand the shirt and pants.

That being said, he gets to keep the shirt and pants, so I don't see Air Canada reimbursing him for those.

I went on the plane with shorts and and a hoodie. I only carry a murse on holidays as it can hold my passport, wallet, and epi pen. Had plans that night to go out for a friend's bachelor party that I couldn't show up in shorts and a hoodie. The basic Levi jean after conversion is 120cad here....

Yeah try going through the credit card that you booked the trip with. Both of my cards have a decently high limit for what you can purchase if your bags are delayed by that long.

Air Canada is brutal to deal with so I'm going to go through my visa. They require a email /statement from air Canada stating date and time my luggage was returned and that they aren't paying any delayed baggage compensation. I guess this is to prevent someone from getting paid out from both. Problem is getting a hold of air Canada to do this... Horrible company to deal with
