Would be cool if we could mark forums read from the "what's new" screen. Currently I have to click back to forums main page to do this.
Funny, this was there before but I removed it. Didn't feel like it made sense for my use case. I'll re-enable it.

Used a co-worker's larger monitor and see what you're talking about. It's not a resolution issue, it's a screen size issue. Adjust fonts any smaller, it looks better on large monitors, but unreadable on a Surface Pro 4.

Dunno what I can do here, have to cater to the Lowest Common Denominator. Unfortunately, we only have resolution information and not screen size information so we can't adjust for that in code.

edit - temporary workaround, I'm using ctrl-mousewheel to zoom down 3 levels, and that seems to be optimal.
yep, i zoomed out to 80% and its a lot closer to the old site, much easier to read.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Looks great on a mobile browser... worse on a desktop.

They way I do it is that I open the what's new, and then open every thread I'm interested in as new tabs, and then when I'm done reading and closing those, I mark the forums read. Doesn't change much I suppose if I DON'T mark them as read, since it'll still give me fresh stuff at the op of "what's new" each time either way. That's just the way that makes sense in my head.

Must be the lack of sleep, but what link is that? Screenshot?
Sorry for the delayed response. Couldn't get a pic to upload from my phone on the weekend.

There used to be a short list of about 10 or so most recent threads right on the home page. Is this feature gone for good?

Maybe someone already mentioned this - need a response box in the thread itself.

The light blue text over white is hard af to read.

I know this forum is getting old but the font size is way too huge.

Nope. I've put it on the todo list on the first post.

On the todo list on first post, as well as a known workaround. It's too big on larger monitors due to the way it scales between mobile devices all the way up to big desktop monitors.

Colors and spacing are still being tweaked. I'll note that in the first post.

Can we use different colours for the read and unread thread icons? I find the grey and blue too similar:

Maybe even make the unread icon green to correspond with the new post in the section indicator

This is probably doable, Kenny's looking into cleaning up some of that area. I find the envelope to be massive compared to the go to new post button beside it, but have moved on and now using the green arrow a couple columns down.

I suggested this one as well for kenny, not sure how hard it is to implement. It's 2 separate functionality, on the forums listing you can double click the green light to mark that forum as read (desktop only). On the envelope, mods double click that to lock/unlock the thread. So thread listings will need both the green light and the envelope for us mods.

The number of pages in a thread isn't showing up underneath the title like it used to. I know it's a little nitpicky, but I could at least tell whether I had missed a few posts or a whole bunch.

Now that join date in front and centre I should see if I can resurrect my first account. I think that one was 1999 or something.

Wow, I was way off. My first account was 2007, unless there was one before that one that I don't remember. Apparently my memory isn't so good.

    alright.

-biggest gripe so far is the forums used to mark themselves as read some amount of time after you visit, and now they dont and i have no idea what the new posts are
-no page count in thread list

-think this is already fixed but checking a user's posts didn't show anything from friday to 2009 (see pic)
-also when checking user posts, right side of picture has some stuff cut off (see pic)

    - mark all as read after timeout is gone. The forums remembers what you've read for every thread up to 30 days. Anything showing up in what's new is unread in last 30 days. If you're a completionist, you'll have to use mark all as read.

    - page count, still looking into it to make it fit nicely.

    - search is "fixed" now. It took 3 days to reindex all the posts.

    - logged as a bug.

Why make the quick reply box permanent? When I click on "reply to thread" the quick reply box pops open no problem, and doesn't take up any real estate in the event that I don't want to reply to anything.
