So acquired most of the parts for this build... just down to the little things, chain, cables, shorter chainring bolts, etc... but one part I should have added to my Jenson order might be a little tricky...

Anyone know if one of the local shops would have these in stock? Or anyone have some kicking around? The originals on the bike were broken and I would like to run the cable for the derailleur this way vs zip ties

First parts order turned up... have to add 1 1/8” to 1 1/4” stem shim to the list as this threaded to threadless adaptor wasn’t what I expected... waiting on shifter before wrapping the other side of the bars

Thought I was looking at some samurai sword on first glance

Yeah, I was getting that sort of vibe too haha, I really am liking this over grips... should also have enough wrap in this kit to redo it once too

UPS finally updated that they should be delivering the rest of the parts tomorrow, so should be able to finish it up this weekend... just in time for my new DT commute that I’m starting Tuesday

1x11 conversion (reused 46T chain ring)
    105 derailleur
    105 11-32 cassette
    Shimano 11sp chain
    Brand X bars and stem
    Threaded to threadless adaptor
    Shimano RS11 wheelset
    RS-700 shifter
    Brooks bar wrap
    Pedals/toe cages/leather straps
    Clark’s brake levers
Leftover seat from some other bike
    All new cables

Rides great, super playful... should be perfect for my 36km round trip

Hrm... so dropped the chain twice on the way to work, noticed my bike lock had slipped and was touching the chain, so tossed the lock in my bag in the way home and dropped it 3 times on the way home! Twice in a row in the lowest gear climbing sandy beach hill... then once in the second highest on the flats... think I might need a narrow wide chain ring. Screwed around with tweaking the derailleur as best I could prior to this ride so not sure what else I could do... damn 1x

Yes, get a narrow wide chain ring. That should fix all your problems. 1x without narrow wide is unreliable unless you are running something else on the front to prevent it from jumping off the chainring.

Seemed better today, chainring bolts were creaking so I tightened them, may have been part of the issue... will monitor

Not a huge fan of the tires on this bike though... slipped out on me going down sandy beach hill (rear locked up) ...that was a fun start to the day
