I would pick up a tubolito as a backup tube and run tubeless. So much lighter to carry around.
Has anyone recently built a bike ordering frame etc from china? I just need a regular ol commuter getting to and from work and between the exorbinant price people are asking for used bikes and the limited stock shops seem to have... its a fruitless search.
I dont need carbon fiber lightweight shit, id just prefer something with skinny tires that doesnt weigh 30 lb like my old mountain bike
Go to the Bike Root at the UofC as they have a selection of used bikes that's built by either @D'z Nutz or @taemo !This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Not sure what you're trying to accomplish with ordering a bike from China, but saving money wouldn't be one of them. If you want an affordable commuter, also see what twowheelview has to offer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I like it. The price is a bit steep. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think I can deal with the bulk and the weight of a regular tube that is 10x less the cost. In fact, I'd rather walk out. lol.

Have a nashbar cyclocross frame (L - 56), Aluminum with carbon fork. Can be set up for rim, or disc. Was my commuter for a few seasons...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Parts from 4 different continents to complete this build. What a nightmare building a bike during the pandemic. Spent way more than I wanted to, but ultimately it's quite an interesting build. This fucking industry has reinvented the wheel so many times. So unnecessary. But fuck it - went flavor of the month and did a gravel/cx build on a 63cm w/ mullet drivetrain.
X01 10-52t Cassette
X01 Derailleur
Ratio 12-Speed mod
SRAM Red Rear shifter/brake
SRAM Force 1x front brake
SRAM Force 1x 44t crankset/dub BB
DT Swiss 1850 wheelset w/ hub adapters galore
700x40 Continental gravel tcs tires
A bunch of bullshit other components
IT'S ALMOST DONEEEEEE. Getting 3d fit tomorrow. stoked.

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
Looking good @zipdoa !
Well, found a sweet deal on a gravel wheel set, basically new WTB Riddlers plus wheels for $150… in a skin wall, can’t even find them in stock… all for $150 from someone switching to a 650b… grabbed some rotors and 12mm to 10/9mm adaptors and the $200 dedicated trainer frame is now rolling! …probably going to slowly upgrade from here
