Those are completely different effort levels if your heart rate data is accurate. Strangely enough, your slower time seemed like you were working harder. Max speed is also massively different - that's a big downhill and not fitness related - did anything else bike wise change? Besides that, tough to compare commute times with a lot of variability in the ride (intersections, traffic, wind, tire pressure, etc).
Yeah I’m thinking the wearOS watch I use was acting up with HR there haha... no commute though, fish creek lap. Down one side of the park, up the other and back... including the world’s steepest paved pathway... the one going into evergreen by the ring road

Only factor not controlled (besides quality of this stupid watch) would be wind, but for the most part it’s pretty sheltered in that section of the park. I always top up tire pressure before I leave the house

If GCN has taught me anything about comparing rides it’s average watts are important... I was up 17% on the second ride

Do you have a power meter? Or are you using Strava's estimated power?
I know the Fish Creek climb you mention - probably the second steepest grade in Calgary. Either way, plenty faster this time around!

You see my cranks?? Hahaha. I’m not too worried about it, I’m no athlete. Just happy the chain stays on!

199x cannondale R400 w/105 11sp cassette and derailleur, wheel set w/11sp hub, flat bars and clips. OG compact RSX cranks and brakes (with newer ultegra pads) ... nothing else really done

Could have been pedal based power meter or a PowerTap hub!
I find Strava's power estimation to be rarely accurate. I suppose if it's the same bike and wind isn't a big factor it should be relatively close for comparison. Where in fish creek are you hitting 77km/h?

That looks like a Strava glitch, was somewhere around the road going into the park off 24th st... was pedalling hard today down it and didn’t come close to the same speed

So my brakes have two levers for the drop bar and the one on the top flat part sucks. I ride mostly the hoods so it's not a big deal, but is there something I need to adjust to make the top levers squeeze tighter?

Probably all one piece, so you’d be adjusting both levers... but yes, there should be threaded barrels along the lines (probably a few) start there, if not enough adjustment then actually tighten the cables at the callipers

BB92... why? Fuck that design, dunno if it’s specifically the FSA one or not, but the only surface exposed to push it out is the bearing... which had less resistance than the cup did with the frame... bearings out, cups still in frame... wtf...

Ended up using red loc tight and pressing the bearings back in, then was able to knock the whole unit out together... all so I can run an internally routed dropper on a bike not designed for one cause the GF of course wants one after taking mine for a spin

anyone heard and/or used tubolito tubes before?

lighter and better puncture resistance than butyl/latex but 3x more expensive.

The orange tube? It looks nice but you can’t see it. May be if you want to ride in aspen.

lol so orange tube stem on bikes == red dot on cameras?

mostly interested on the durability and punture protection for clincher wheels instead of going tubeless.

Long shot, but does anyone have a DT Swiss 3-pawl hub lock ring removal tool?

Trying to do a 370 3-pawl to star ratchet conversion. Order one off eBay last year, but they sent me the wrong one.

Let me know what you end up doing, I have a gravel bike with 370s coming and having a 350 w/ 54teeth is a lot better.
