    That matte black is great
I actually really dislike black bikes and I'm planning on repainting this after the warranty is up, but who knows, it might grow on me.

    damn, nice looking frame!
have to check it out once it's done!

    disc or caliper brake?
I went with calipers mostly cause I have rim brake wheels getting in my way in my storage locker haha! The lighter equipment is an added bonus.

let me know once it's done, curious to see how light it is, worried that it might tempt me to get a CF frame next too though haha

Does anyone have a set of Continental GP4000S II in 25c mounted on rim wheels I can try out on my frame? I just want to see if it fits.

I do. Those are what I use. I will be at bowcycle on Monday picking up my new wheels so I will be bringing my old wheels there if you want to meet there? Let me know.

I am off that day and debating if I should go there early AM or afternoon once wife is off work. Although, my friend who lives around the area wants to go for a ride after work around 5-6pm. So, I will be there around 6? That works for you? Or if you want to meet somewhere before I go there or come to our house if you live around SW area that works too!

Ah, that's not gonna work. My build is only partially completed so I'd have to go home, grab the bike, then head over and I wouldn't want you waiting around. That's okay. I ordered one that should have been here 2 weeks ago, but I just wanted to make sure it fit before I ordered the second one. I'll just continue to wait. Hopefully it arrives this week.

    Thanks though!

So I tried to change my cables and housing on rear derailleur. Was able to get housing and cable through the frame.

However my bike won’t shift from lowest gear (smallest ring) to highest. There is no tension on the front shifter when I push it inwards (the large lever to shift up). There is tension on the small lever when I push inwards so it wants to shift to my smallest cog and stay there. Tried turning barrel adjuster counter clockwise (and clockwise) and it won’t shift up. Any ideas where I went wrong? Trying to save myself a trip to bow cycle

You probably didn't have enough initial tension on it before playing with the barrel adjuster. I usually go all the way in and then back off about 4 turns, then start from there.
Even on the rear, I have to reset the initial tension a few times to get it perfect usually, while sometimes I get a lucky guess and it's good to go.

This. Front derailleurs are always tricky but it all comes down to initial tension. Just try pulling the cable as you can to get good tension, screw it then try barrel adjuster as what Boosted said.

Whatever you do, don't play around with the high/low set screws. This is all tension.

    Beauty! Love the matte black
That’s what I want. Something in the 15-16lb range.

What did that set you back all in?

Tough to say. I'd say $1300-1500? It was really put together from take off parts I've accumulated over time, parts I meant to put on my other bikes, and new parts just for this build. By the time I decided to build a new bike, I just needed to get a crank, a handlebar, bottom bracket, chain, and tires.

If I were going to get this down to 15-16lbs, I'd be looking to spend another ~$1500. No thanks.

Another maintenance from the triathlete wanna be aka shitty bike mechanic

Decided to give my rear cassette a solid cleaning so I pulled it off my wheel. Bought a lock ring and chain whip so it came off np. Based on the you tube vids I watched I was expecting a Freehub but I don’t think I have that. I also bought a new 105 11sp cassette a while back thinking I would need it eventually. Instead of the cogs coming off it looks permantely attached and that bronze rod just runs through the center of the cassette.

Attached are some pics of my cassette.

My question is if I wanted to replace my rear cassette can I use my 105 that I bought and if not what options do I have to either fit it on or what type of cassette do I need with my current hub. I think I have to buy a new wheel but I’m not sure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

All that has happened is that you pulled the freehub body and axle out with the cassette. Most likely the splines are gouged so you pulled it all out. you’ll just have to knock the cassette off and put the axle and freehub body back in and the new cassette will pop back on.

that has never happened to me from the 5-7 cassettes that I've taken off, the first few rings should be individual with spacers, are you able to pull them a part?
