Default Jacques Villeneuve says Lance Stroll one of the worst F1 rookies ever.

Interesting this is coming from another Canadian (Montrealler). But I guess his points are some what valid.

I can think of worse. I believe some of them have even been winners over in Indycar.

Hes not being very PC about it, but hes not entirely wrong.

I don't doubt Stroll is talented and might have a future in F1, but I think he was brought in way too early.

Remember when they said the same thing about Kimi, having only 13 or 14 races under his belt, and he easily matched his teammate Quick Nick? Or more recently, Max? You either got it or you don't.

    I endorse this comment.

I so badly wish he was faster. For Canadian pride, I wish he was great.

Look how quick Bruno was thrown out of F1.

He's not wrong. But there is no need to be a complete cunt about it.

There are two types of people, there are the ones helping you and there are the ones that listen to Dolly Partons greatest hits whilst trying to shit in your mouth. I'd put Villeneuve in the latter.

To be fair, Villeneuve was helping him prior to joining F1. Now that he's in and performing like shit, he's just laying it out there. I mean look at Stroll's performance. He's getting his ass kicked by Massa, career #2 driver who retired FFS.

I guess we could all give Stroll a participation trophy to feel better. Patty Lowe thought he was getting a trophy so it would've made sense.

Williams technical chief Paddy Lowe has revealed that Lance Stroll's first points of the season felt so much like a win to him that he mistakenly started heading to the podium after the race.

That is one of the funniest things I've heard in a great long time. It felt like a win.

I wanted this guy to be good, to prove the doubters wrong. I accepted his odd silly F3 wrecks as they were part of being young and trying things, he won races, he won the title. The kid was fast in F3, irregardless of the money behind him.
But good god he is just not showing himself well on the big stage, and I'm not seeing hopes of that improving. Montreal was a outlier, there were points available due to attrition. You can't be 1.5 seconds behind your teammate race after race. Ever. Max wasn't exactly Mr. Reliable when he started, but what he was was hella fast.
Money will keep him there but it seems to be getting less and less likely he is going to magically figure it out and get faster, no matter how much time the money gives him.

I realize the transition from the lower series to F1 is a big jump, but I seriously didn't expect this level of lap disparity between him and Massa.

I guess we wait for Latifi now?
