He hasn't worked since? Wasn't he scheduled to retire that year anyways?

Lawyer probably worked a deal to have him stay on disability for better chances at the law suit

Yeah it's kind of hard to sue for future earnings when you're retiring soon. It's right in his contract as a linesman too for an arbitrator to settle these things.

Makes sense. Treliving's new contract gave him more autonomy so didn't really need Burke to be the management/ownership go between anymore. Couple that with all the Burke to USA Hockey rumours for the last 2 years

    Flames found their assistant coaches.

CALGARY Geoff Ward and Ryan Huska were named assistants to new Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters on Thursday.

Ward, from Waterloo, Ont., and Huska, from Cranbrook, B.C., join assistant coach Martin Gelinas, goaltending coach Jordan Sigalet and video coach Jamie Pringle on Peters' staff.

Peters was introduced as Calgary's new head coach in April. He replaced Glen Gulutzan, who was fired and has since joined the Edmonton Oilers as an assistant coach.

Huska was the head coach of Calgary's American Hockey League affiliate for the last four and coached those teams to an overall 135-118-17-10 record.

Ward was an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils the last three seasons.

Huska, 42, was an assistant and then head coach of the Kelowna Rockets for 12 years before joining the Flames organization.

The former winger won three Memorial Cups with the Kamloops Blazers and played over 100 minor games in the AHL and IHL before retiring. Huska was a third-round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Ward, 56, was named the AHL's coach of the year in 2003 when he coached the Hamilton Bulldogs to the Calder Cup finals and a league-best 49-19-8-4.

He was coach of the Edmonton Roadrunners in 2005-05 and has also coached in Germany's pro league three times.
Similar to the Bill Peters hire, can't say I'm overly impressed with the new coaching staff. I guess time will tell.
As long as Ward knows how to run an average powerplay, then it's already an improvement.
