    Default Baby on board

Considering beyond's demographics I wonder how many have had or do have a 'baby on board' sticker on their vehicles(s). Just yesterday I saw some young fellow in his car trying to be oh so cool with his 'bob' sticker on the back of his car but it just didn't work.

If you do have one and will readily admit it, then why?

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Baby on board stickers are there to alert emergency services of the infant in the car, in the event of an accident. I don't have one, but once I have kids, you better believe I'm going to put one on.

Edit: Seems to be getting more frequent that it occurs to me how accurate OPs signature is.

Ouch, it's not what it's meant for though.

It is common belief that the sign was created so that, in the event of an accident, the emergency workers would know to look for an infant.

“I’ve never heard that theory before,” said Paul Maxwell, a paramedics with thirty years experience who runs a child injury prevention organization. “I surveyed my crew and everyone thinks its to warn people to be extra cautious driving behind so as to not crash into them.”

I've never understood the point of them, did anyone ever see one and go "Oh ok, I guess I won't smash into that car anymore!"

I've asked emergency responders over the years about this, and they've never used it as an indication that there's a baby on board. 90% of the time there isn't even a baby on board because nobody takes that shit down when they're driving on their own. They approach every accident the same way, regardless of the sign. An interesting exception is with electric cars such as Teslas. There's not enough standardization or training on how to approach electric cars in an accident today so they're approached with caution and a bit of guess work.

When I lived back in the UK, I used to drive like a total dick. But if I saw a vehicle that had this signs, I would ease off.

The worst stickers are things like "If you can read this, you're following too close" or "Do you follow Jesus this close?" I'm sure all those stickers do is encourage people to tailgate them everywhere.

As for Baby on Board, I rarely even see a car seat in those vehicles - people are lazy and often times use the vehicle with a single occupant. Doesn't change anything about the way I drive (nor should it).

I personally judge anyone the same who has pretty well anything written on their car, baby on board, bumper stickers, stick families, jesus fish, tuner stickers, fake M's , list goes on...

All stupid. No one gives a shit about your rolling billboard.

If this is true why do people put them on the back window and not the sides? A baby is always going to be in the backseat and responders will very rarely try to access occupants from the rear especially if that means going through a trunk. Would make sense if people were putting these on the rear seat side windows but I have never seen that....

can't say I'm a fan of any stickers. On that note I used to see an older CRV with a big NISMO sticker on it, always liked that one.

Why is everyone assuming first responders are blind and can't just look into the car?
