Surely this is a boring question to you automotive heavyweights.

I've got a $200 Kenwood stereo in my old wheels. I like it, and would like to keep. I'm a lazy person without my interest in electronics.

How much effort to move this to the new Wheels?

If the person who installed the stereo in your old vehicle was smart and didn't cheap out and used a wiring harness (ie: a wiring adapter so that the cutting of the original wires isn't necessary), then this "should" be very easy cause you're going from one Ford to another Ford. I say "should" because this assumes Ford hadn't changed the wiring schematics in the 6 years between the two makes of your vehicles. If they hadn't and your old stereo was installed with a wiring harness, I don't imagine the swap would take more than an hour or so, with most of the work being the disassembly of the dashes of each vehicle to get at the stereos themselves.

If a wiring harness was used, it would just be a matter of unplugging it from the old vehicle and plugging it into the new. If not, it's just a little more work but not impossible.

That's a perfect explanation. Sounds doable.

    Thanks D'z Nutz.
