Is there any benefir to buying a MacBook in SE Asia? Are prices better? I would be concerned about warranty and Apple Care.

My understanding is that prices everywhere are the same, same with Samsung and other big name brands.
Prices are slightly different in other countries. I am not sure about Macbook but here is the comparison for iPhone and I will assume the Macbook pricing will follow a similar pattern. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

As for the Applecare when I took an iPhone to my dad I was told by the Apple store that since there is no Apple Store in Srilanka in order to do an exchange or any warranty issues the phone need to shipped to SG. But if there is an apple store you will have no issue with warranty.
What is the local tax rate?
Prices are kinda the same. The small difference is the tax rate.
I bought my Macbook pro here in 2011 and paid 5% Tax if I bought in the UK it would be 20%.
I have found out the prices are about the same. The taxes are the difference. My daughter bought a new one and she can get a credit back for the VAT taxes.
