The sheer amount of dead standing pine as a result of pine beetle infestations was at one point going to create a problem - up in the 100 Mile House area there are areas where dead pines reached as far as the eye could see and that was 8-10 years ago. This is nature revitalizing itself but the unfortunate offshoot is the danger to humans and their developments.
Will fuck off, again.
Yep, another year of brown skies in AB .... but this has been long time coming. If nature isnt allowed to take its course, it will rebel harshly and do it on its own
Reminds me of 2003, but this is probably a lot worse.
shit, going to Kelowna on Monday. Hopefully this doesn't affect us too much
Is that why there is no sun today.
Cocoa $12,000 per ton.
Damn thats crazy. Is there still flooding in Kelowna? Haven't been able to find much about that...

I say stupid shit all the time.
Been watching carefully. FIL's place is surrounded by 3 major fires. No evacuation for him yet, just have to cross fingers at this point with no sign of rain for the next week.

Oh man, the Okanagan is not getting a break.
Hopefully they don't cancel events that are coming up, especially since we're heading there in September.
were heading out to van friday, do you guys know if google maps would show current road closures or is there a better place? Thanks
Here's the map, for anyone looking. http://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/dmf-viewer...84402955244847
One just popped up yesterday afternoon, right close to the campground I booked yesterday morning. God damn it.
Google maps will make it pretty obvious from the traffic, and it's pretty quick to update road closures when they happen. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
