How big is your house? Who did you end up going with?
1100sq.ft bungelow, using GI Joe Heating. There were a couple of good reviews here on Beyond from years ago, and they were the only one of 5 places that didn't try to "mandatory" upsell me on some bullshit about my hot water tank not meeting code.

That's weird. What brand are you going with? I also have a 1120 sq ft bungalow and got a quote for lennox 1 stage furnace and ac for 9200. That's including permits and 700 to move my hot water tank and install a new liner

I've got some fucked up duct work that makes it more difficult. No one would even install just AC when I got quotes a few years ago, even Beyonds favourite AC guy, Gavin, outright said it can't happen.

This is for both furnace and AC

We got a quote 3 years ago. My wife said we don't need it. I contacted someone today and will see. Prices are what, 30% more than 2020? Anyone got one done recently? What was the wait time to get the job started and how long did it take to do the installation?
I would start getting something lined up ASAP, this year has been pretty hot already and its not even summer yet. We were never AC people but for the costs its 100% worth it, shits just gonna get hotter and hotter every year

For price difference, in 2020 I got quoted $8500 by W&J for furnace/AC, this years quote from them was $11g, so yes 30% increase confirmed. They warned me about it too in 2020, that prices were going to skyrocket soon. Thought it was fear mongering

Ya I know, I probably shouldn't have quoted you haha. My comment was in reference to the general theme of AC prices being nuts this year.

What type of furnace filter is everyone using with their AC?

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

    Necro bump.

Late to the party with getting AC, does anyone have Gavin's contact info?
Any other places that people recommend? Arpis, Airdrie Air and W&J are on the list currently.

Can you get a "heat pump" and make Trudeau pay a portion?

I believe you can. All you need then is to add a 5th Law of Thermodynamics that says the other previous 4 cause you to be triggered and need to be cancelled.
