Do you guys cover your AC units for the winter?

Have read its better not to cover it? Or just cover the top only so it doesn't trap in moisture.
I do because Action Furnace gave me a free cover hahaha.

I haven't noticed issues with condensation buildup when taking the cover off for the following season. I also haven't seen any rodent issues but I do check often to ensure there are no rodents using the area for cover.

I have friends that use covers and others that do nothing but also friends who toss a piece of plywood overtop and set a brick/rock on top to keep the plywood on.

Really, it's more personal preference to be honest. If I didn't get the cover for free I'd more than likely do nothing to be honest re: covering the AC unit.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I got a free cover, but it's somewhere in storage hell after the first winter, so I just stopped using it.

Ended up just ordering one of these. Cover up the top and leave the sides as is.

Hey, it’s an air conditioner bikini. A thong might look better on her.

DOn't wait until summer to order the unit and book the install. Deliveries may be slow, order ASAP.

I think so. My suppliers have also warned me all their parts supplies are about to dry up in the next 4-6 months. The crunch in this industry is about to happen.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I have a side mount slim design. The entire unit is galvanized and requires no cover. Haven’t had one issue with it.

Was installed by Gavin who has done a number of Beyond members.

Everything has been 10-15% each year the last few years. Residential contractors will likely try to gouge home owners, but supply side will simply just not be available for any money.

It’s all relative, supply & demand.

If they were gouging they would be out of work.
