Hit Kananaskis for some XC action yesterday. What a great day.

I used to do a lot of spring skiing, and sunshine has decent conditions much later in the year than lake louise. Well, parts of it do, because most of it is way higher elevation. Divide chair and parts of Goats Eye will hold a lot of snow well past the closing date of May long weekend.

Thanks, that's good to know. I always thought good snow days were starting to get numbered by April.

I was at Sunshine on the weekend and the Teepee Town lift kept jamming up and everyone kept talking about the Georgia ski lift incident like it was going to happen here

Well "good" is a relative term. And lower parts of the hill get sparse.

Usually by mid-April I'm done, but if there's a good dump in the mountain, it will be worth it.

Going to Whitefish this long weekend and will probably be my last one for the season. If it keeps snowing in Sunshine, I might be tempted to go one more time.

BTW I never noticed how expensive Sunshine is compared to Lake Louise until this year. Has it always been 99$ even with a card?

Louise and sunshine should be roughly the same (full) price. Louise $104,sunshine $109.

that's what I always thought but
Louise Plus card you get 20$ off so 84$ + tax
Sunshine card you get get 15$ off on weekend so 94$ + tax

First, fourth, and seventh visits are free too, so that factors into your savings if you go enough times. And it's $25 off during the week. I think that's how they try and get you.

I haven't done the math yet, but I think next season I might just search for lift ticket deals on Kijiji. They seem to come up for like $70-80 often enough.

Castle was dope yesterday! They had 44cm over the weekend. My legs are sore!

More snow this weekend according to snow forecast.

They are definitely worth it if you go there all the time to take advantage of the 4th and 7th visit.
I buy the SSV card every year as I try to go there at least 2-3 times per season, this year I've been there only 2x and 5x in Lake Louise.
I need the receipt so that I can claim it from work benefits otherwise Kijiji is a cheaper route.
Costco lifts are pretty good if a bunch of you are willing to split the cost.

Norquay toonie day is this week. What can I expect in terms of crowds? Should I get there by a certain time for a decent parking spot or should the fact that it's in the middle of the week balance things out?

It'll be solidly busy with cars parked out to the access road.
