So if imgur goes down the pay route, will they also be evil?

A very real question, where does a place like photobucket or imgur make their money?

Imgur is a subset of the reddit group and the biggest issue was no warning from PB just an immediate fuck you. If people were warned or had time to know it may not be so bad.

I don't think so, because regardless of warning, its not like you are going to go and change all the image links you've posted over the years in a variety of threads. So you are still screwed. Its not like they deleted your files. It just made millions of threads useless or pointless overnight.

Fair enff, however, they could had also only block half the image or something and still get their point across. Now users have no idea how photos were arranged in a forum and have no choice but to pay their fee to get it recovered.

Wonder in the end, what percentage of PB account holders would just pay the $400. I'm somewhat certain PB finance department must had calculated this move.

Imgur isn't really associated with Reddit other than the fact that Reddit is a ton of its traffic. It was made to be used for Reddit but isn't owned by them.
