    Default Watering Newly-Planted Trees

    hey guys!

we had 10 Swedish aspens transplanted to our backyard on Saturday evening. they are about 6' tall right now, so fairly young trees. it's been a few days since we've planted these trees, and we're finding the leaves wilting away. we've been watering daily (soaked it quite a bit yesterday), but I'm not sure if I should worry about my trees dying.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to trees and caring for them (sad as it may be lol). but what can I do to make sure my trees thrive? I know there are reading materials online, but I wondering if I can get your guys' feedback.

    thanks!

Mine have all done the same and then recovered. I think I might have used some kind of transplant fertilizer also that seemed to help. My trees are going strong while my neighbor who planted at a similar time lost several over the winter.

Transplated trees/plants can have a chance of going through a "shock" phase. Some survive some do not unfortunately.

They are experiencing transplant shock and should be fine. Give them a decent water in the evening or morning while it's cooler out. It also helps to add a supplement when planting, such as Myke, to the root ball.

Let them calm down for a bit and lay off the watering for about a week or two. Then do the deep soaks.
