Figured since this is formerly a car forum (jokes bud, calm down), people might be interested in these.

Thank you very much! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've been thinking about getting one of these and this will likely push me over the edge.
Top tip, if ya are usually charging overnight, rhe lower amperage ones are cheaper and good. The more expensive ones are faster only, not better. And for maintenance, the smallest ones are fine even for large batteries.

Which ones are the emergency boosters? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Any if the ones with "boost" in the name or letter B in the model number? GB40, GB150 etc? I know less about the boost stuff.

If anyone is on the fence about buying a GB70 (booster) I 100% recommend them. I've been able to start completely dead diesel pickups in winter with this little pack. No problems so far, they'll start any gas vehicle with ease.
Thanks. Been waiting to buy the on board 2a for a while. They ne ver seem to go on sale.
i have the gb40, i really wish i could stomache the cost of the gb70 or even 150, i would love to know without hesitation that it will work, multiple times. but realistically for me the booster is more about convenience than necessity, i use it because it's there, not because it's the only option, if i have to pull out the other car and cables then i will, just not sure the convenience is worth that much $$This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I actually built my own booster pack with some insane cells, cost me about $100 all together, and these are 200 amp cells with 2P so 400A output, it'll start almost anything (the only thing i couldnt do was my brothers "sat in the back yard for 2 years, in the middle of winter, frozen diesel dodge")
Guess i don't have a pic of the cells in the box, but it's 4s2p 38120 Headway cells https://batteryhookup.com/products/4...0a-super-cells

I cheaped out and didn't buy.
Now I know at least two batteries will fail on me this winter... D'oh!!
Well luckily you know a guy with handfuls of battery chargers you can borrow.

I have a couple chargers, too, but don't call me San Diego.
I bought a heaty blanket this year but its cord is so short it would be awkward to use in conjunction with my block heater, so I think I'm going to return it.
Thanks for posting this. I snagged the Noco Genius 2 on the discount. It's the smaller 2 amp model, but I think it's all I need as it will charge a car battery in 20 hours or so and then also works on smaller batteries. I was more interested in the maintenance aspect of it so the lower amps kept the price down. I was debating between the 2 and the 1amp model but liked the scale on the 2amp model vs the single light on the 1 amp model.
Can Tire also has these on sale as well. Not sure if its cheaper than Amazn tho
