This bike parked next to mine at the 30k station. Was going to take a pic after I finished up my cookie, and washroom break... and then it was gone. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Good job everyone! That was actually a fun ride even if I did not see anyone from here I was looking for Derrick's bike though lol. I think I could have gone up to the 100k but 60k is good for now. Funny how I came back to Tuner Valley and my son was waving a checkered flag at the finish line lol.
Next is MEC 100k Spring ride? I will be training a lot this winter to shed more weight for those uphills!
Watch the cat for different holiday hats!
Sorry man! I didn't stick around the aid stations very longThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I might be up for it. I looked at the last few events and didn't realize it's not always the same route, which keeps it interesting. Are each seasons' routes always the same or are they always different for every one? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yea I'm in for another 100k! Don't think I want to push to 160k until I buy a true road bike. Hybrid is pretty heavy and a lot slower. Except I killed people on downhills somehow haha, all about the tuck!
People were laughing as I cruised by. I rested my neck right on the handlebars, hit around around 65km/hr on the hill between turner valley and Longview and the hill coming into Longview.
From what I can tell is they do the Bar-U Ranch in the spring, and the Hwy 40 in the fall. I'll prob do the spring 100 as something to keep me motivated
I think you passed me! Someone flew by me doing a tuck on a bike with flatbars. I was likeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Haha yea I think I saw the balls dangling on one of the big downhills between turner and Longview. I was wearing a blue camel back with straps dangling in the wind. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Was going to wave but when I get that low I have to focus on missing potholes haha. Was trying to use everydownhill to carry into those uphills
Yeah that sounds about right! I didn't see anyone else doing any tucks and laughed at how fast you got down that hill hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sadly I did not. Was feeling under the weather and thought pushing myself wouldn't help the situation...'This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That's faster than me on my endurance road bike. Didn't even hit 60 km/hr yesterday. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I blame my dad, him and I ride a super steep 2km hill out in BC by the cabin and we compete for top speed. His max is 73, the fastest I've recorded is 67 but I think I've beat that once (wasn't recording). I used to try to pedal for speed and he'd fly by me in a tuck so I quickly learned to tuck instead, can't let him stay ahead of meThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I wish you guys could have seen this. Normally I see cyclists tuck and I think nothing of it, but J-hop had a style all his own: he wasn't on a road bike, he wasn't wearing spandex, he had a backpack on and straps were flapping around. He looked like a commuter that took a terribly wrong turn and was clinging on to dear life as his bike zipped down a hill.
It was a thing of beauty.

Couldn't have said it better. It's my gf's camel back and she told me after there are little slots to stuff the straps in. I caught a glimpse of my shadow a few times and thought ah shit that joke I made to Brent about the unzipped fleece flapping in the wind wasn't far off
Now if only you had balls flapping in the wind under your saddle
... so now what. Feel lost on the forum haha
How are the legs feeling?
Turbo trainer + Zwift for the offseason!
Off season? It's just the beginning of CX season.
I know the feeling. No dates yet for the 2018 mec centuries from what I could find? I'm going to sign up for both. I would like to get 3 100km rides in next year at leastThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Physically I was (and am) fine after the ride; I wasn't sore or anything. My problem was endurance. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Out of curiosity, are there any sort of CX events for noobs just to try out and see what they're like? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah, I'm planning on signing up for the spring and summer ones too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Rove frame isn't that different from the Jake. You could just upgrade the groupset and you'd have almost the same bike. That said, I'm trying to decide what I want to do for next year haha: ride the same bike but get some lighter wheels and road tires? Get a used road bike? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm assuming you rode your Ghost on Saturday? How was it?
