160km still doesn't go all the way up the pass? Boo!
yaaaa but where else could they start it.. longview doesn't really have the infrastructure for that many people. Also wonder if they would have issues getting parks on board for another ride to the top since K-country =/= provincial parkThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
weather is looking like a giant pile of shit so far... waiting till thursday to make a decision

Bowing out of this one - last year was rough and this year looks like it's going to be worse, and this year's MS Ride sucked up all of this year's motivation for wet rides.
Have fun anyone who's doing it!

Yup... maybe I’ll do a Zwift fondo. Anyone want a E-group ride
Yeah.. not going for this one. I’ll be back in spring with hopefully good weather. The spring ride this year was great, just very windy as always around that area lol.
I did MS Ride also this year! I thought it was fun 1st day as I’ve never ridden in wet before then the next day was quite hot lol. Got my tan lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Nice! The first day made the 2nd so great, but it was still pretty brutal. I don't think I've ever been that wet or cramped out in my life (I got a flat 10k in or so...nothing like sitting on a guardrail to change a tube during a downpour!)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Oh man that would've been a tough one.. With that condition, we literally stopped for only 2 minutes to get food/drinks at the pitstops then go again to keep ourselves warm. Actually, we didn't even need drinks.. lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I was at MEC today and they've scheduled Sept 7 for the Fall Century Ride (60/100/160km). Nothing for spring unfortunately.
Hmm - that's too bad about dropping the spring ride. I'll likely be racing cross the weekend of the fall ride. Is the MEC duathlon happening?
On topic of duathlon, there is also the Blitz one in Bragg Creek on September 14th: https://duathlon.blitzevents.ca/
I didn't see anything posted, just the Cyclocross race and the Fall Century RideThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The nice thing about MEC was that it was $40.
Think I'm signed up for Branch Out that weekend. Guess we could also do a Beyond group ride up Highwood Pass before the road opens.

Show QuoteJust out of curiosity, I emailed MEC to see if the schedule was final or if they might still add it and they confirmed no Spring this year. Oh well. I'm hoping I can finally get to try out the Highwood Pass this year. I planned to last year, but then I got into that accident. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just go up before the road is open. It's way nicer with no cars around with a high chance of bear spotting.
Wonder if they’ll actually have refunds. They kinda fucked over my wife this spring, she signed up for a race and then they cancelled it within 24 hours. Refused to give her money back.
