Only 3 weeks away. Anyone taking the day off to go photograph it? We won't get totality like most of the CONUS, but we'll still get about 75% coverage.

I'll be camping in Yellowstone and driving to Jackson for the eclipse. I will be getting just over 2 minutes of totality!
I won't be photographing the eclipse though. I bought a Nikon binocular (first Nikon product) and Baader solar filters for viewing.
Im camping at the west yellowstone koa and then driving to idaho falls to see it. Im just hoping the traffic isnt nuts to get into the path of totalityThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think any area within the path of totality is gonna be absolutely nuts! I plan on leaving the campsite before sunrise and even then I expect traffic. I might just end up somewhere in the Grand Teton National Park.
I'm gonna be on the other side of the planet, duh!
I am thinking of driving down to Idaho Falls. Probably end up in Arco Idaho or the like somewhere where there will be less people.

I see that some of the freak churchy/ nut cases are predicting the end of the world with this event .... again.
Wanted to go, but my wife ran out of vacation. Guess I'll have to wait for the next one to come to us. (2044)
Going down somewhere around Casper. Going to be an early morning trying to get a good site.

Tip, you can make a crappy eclipse viewer with any tiny circular hole and a flat surface. You can see the general shape really well. Or any leafy tree is casting semicircle shadows right now.

Someone in the office has the proper glasses. Looks pretty cool right now.

Wore three pairs of welding glasses and looked at it lol. Made a pinhole camera too with a spare box at work. That worked pretty well too
I imagine an electronic welding helmet would be best.
