    Default Which Montana Border Crossing?

Heading to Gardiner Montana in a couple weeks, which border crossing is better? I know the Couts is bigger but it's probably a lot busier? I found the Piegan crossing as well. Wondering which one is better, haven't driven to the US through Alberta before

Edit... title should be Which Montana Border Crossing?

I think crossing at Coutts/SG will be better for you. Better chance of not getting to a crossing when it's closed and less detour. Either of which will negate "waiting" at Coutts/SG... though it's doesn't normally get too crazy busy.

Coutts/sweetgrass would probably the "safest choice".
Del Bonita is small but found it speedy in the past.

I'm not too worried about the crossing being closed unless you mean unscheduled since I will be crossing before 11pm

Del Bonita may be less busy, but only has one "bay" IIRC. So if you happen to be unlucky and come during a busy time or somebody has an issue you may not save any time. The Coutts one will likely be busier, but has more lanes to go through. I think it's also open 24hrs if you end up crossing later than expected.

i normally go couts/sweetgrasss but thats just because of my travel, one time i went to the one south of fernie and it was probably the quickest and least intrusive, most casual, crossing i ever had.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Yea I crossed there on a Friday night, we were the only vehicle crossing but we were in a snowstorm so I guess it doesn't count. Very quick.

Someone mentioned a nexus pass, what benefit does that have at border crossings?

If it's REALLY busy, the Sweetgrass crossing has a Nexus line up that will be quicker, but 90% of the time that I've been through it, they don't have the Nexus line open.

Same. Normally go through Coutts, but on a road trip I took a turn early and went through the Roosville crossing. Suuuuper relaxed, and a really cool drive along the Koocanusa to Spokane
