    Default Seat choices

I ride a specialized XC full suspension, the seat that came on it from factory was very hard on the butt, so now I have a stock norco seat off a buddies norco bigfoot. It's better but still hurts after longer rides. What would be some good seat choices for a full suspension? I ride trails too so nothing weak

I'd start off with getting your sitbones measured. Any reputable bike shop will have a device to measure sitbone width and determine the correct saddle width for you. Based on that you can buy an XC / all mountain saddle.
Secondly - are you wearing padded shorts? Is your saddle angle correct? It should be either flat or pointed downward ever so slightly.

I ride a Specialized Phenom Comp on two of my cross bikes, and a Phenom Expert on my hardtail. Most comfortable saddle I've owned.

I have no padded shorts, and the saddle angle seems right. It's just a hard seat lol

Do you consistently ride? ie: are you riding a decent distance more than a couple times a week?

I found it took about a month of consistent riding before I felt comfortable on my seat and if I take a couple week break I do get some pain when I go back to riding 30+ kms a day.

I'm no expert but having your butt hurt is way better than scrotum pain/numbness and or perineal nerve pain.

The pressure should be on the two bones on your butt instead of the soft tissue so it may not feel great at first

I'm such a baby when it comes to seats. No matter what I get sore the next day. I have one that is quite padded and it's still not great even with padded shorts. Maybe I just need to ride more haha.

I do at least 200 km a week. If it was just once a week I'd be fine
