Another thread about a hyundai. But this one is my no problem one... except the reception on my radio. its very spotty. any suggestions on what i should try to fix it? not sure if the shark fin anntenna is not working right. but i've never dealt with this issue before and haven't seen anything online about being able to fix the problem.

    Thanks

Are the Calgary transponders down? If they are not up the reception in town is brutal.

where were you driving? Pretty well anything that has a high-point to the south blocks signal when we're this far north... Think there was a free week of sat radio this week, and we were driving back from BC, and it was virtually useless for 1/3 to 1/2 the ride

Mine's been pretty good but I do notice it cut out sometimes, even below small bridges. I think it has more to do with the garbage Satellite Radio providers than your car.

Mine is horrible as well (GM truck, Edmonton). I am just driving around town with no obstruction and constantly getting dead zones.

I am just using the free trial as well.

Even when i was paying for it the reception was bad especially after a car wash. are the shark fin antennas easy to replace?

You may never lose it - my free trial ended 4 months ago and I still have it.

Probably repeaters down if you're getting cut out under bridges. Downtown would be a deadzone for you.

Drove me nuts that it would go down for a week at a time before anyone came out to fix that shit. So glad I'm off sat radio.

I'd talk to the dealer maybe?

My shark fin works great. Maybe there is an issue with yours?

But on that note, unless I can get the really cheap pricing I had last time I renewed I will likely cancel.

There is an area on 12 St. N.E. right at the 32nd Avenue N.E intersection across from the Royal bank where there's no satellite reception. Been like this for years. There's something there impeding it.

I used to have satellite but cancelled it due to the quality and reception issues, it always sounded like a low quality youtube video and this was with different receivers... Finally gave up and went back to peasant radio

Same goes for the Northbound intersection at 32nd Ave NE and Barlow. Going Southbound or any direction on 32nd Ave there is no issue.
