PC Financial Now Re-Branded to Simplii Financial
CIBC and Loblaws ended their banking relationship. They said everything will be the same except re-branded name. No more bank machines inside the Superstores/Loblaws anymore. I hope so as I loved the no fee banking. No charges. Everything was free!

Yup! Love using PC for a lot of stuff. I have a cheap $4 account with both RBC and TD and it works for me. RBC gives free e-transfers and they are instant. TD fee is waived with minimum balance.

From what I've found on this (I have multiple PC accounts) there will be virtually no impact to the banking customers. It's always been CIBC on the back end and now the front end will say Simplii instead of PC. With full access to CIBC machines I never used the ones in the Superstore locations anyway.

Probably wanting to take the fight to Amazon online. So it will cut these low/no margin non-core businesses.
Was interested in Brookefield's take on owning/running the gas stations tho as most companies are trying to ditch them. Everyone knows the profit center of gas station is the store attached to it, not selling gas. And as far as I know, few Loblaws stations has store attached to them.
The funny part is all Esso stations is now owned by 7-11 but all Brookefield stations will be branded Mobil and carry the same products as Esso.
