Half my amazon items the last few days have been next day delivery with intelcom it seems. Would be crazy to see same day delivery at some point.

They will be normal warehouse jobs. There are hundreds of major distribution centers in this city.
They won't be able to under cut them.
But yes if you're used to the O&G world, even the senior positions in the distribution center will be low paying compared to similar jobs in the high flying boom days (not sure what O&G warehouse jobs pay today).

Two of my cousins work for two separate grocery chains at the warehouse and make more than I do. They both can't read, speak or write English.

Bookmakers in Ireland giving ATL the odds on favorite to land HQ2 with a couple places in Texas not far behind. Calgary odds at about 1%. Toronto is much more likely if they somehow come to Canada. Its a lot of hoopla for nothing. Amazon wanted a ton of cities to bid in order to get a big discount on whichever city they were gonna land in anyway.

I was actually looking at evening part time work at one point to ease things... until I got sick.
Even adjusted for UK which I think is TonyTiger55's homeland, it's not that much better there. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hey the current Executive VP of Supply Chain for Loblaws started in the warehouse.
Now he takes a private plane to work across the country on a weekly basis.
FFS.
Amazon isn't coming to Canada, let alone Calgary.
They just included Canada as an option to be politically correct.

I've worked out in that area for the pass 10 years and it was a great commute but since its been built up (ie Walmart's cold and dry warehouse, Sobey's warehouse, GFS, Harmony Beef) its full of dumb a$$ drivers. I coworker had to put his car in the ditch last winter due to idiot blowing a stop sign. I can't even count how many times I've been passed on double solid lines to see them turn into one of said locations less than a km ahead of me. Or on the flip side driving white knuckled and 30 km/h in a 60 zone cause there is a bit of snow on the ground. This Amazon warehouse is going to be in the same area and will be filled with more of said drivers.
I would think India would have a amazon HQ before Calgary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And 12 pages came to a halt with me just saying non delusional truth.
Now imagine the ignorance your kids are going through.

Amazon execs bet big on the city with the best odds, announce that city as the new HQ2 location.
Easy money!
EDIT: Re: Atlanta. They pledged $1B to cycling infrastructure over the next 25 years with a goal of being a top cycling city. The equivalent of six full Cycle Track Networks every year for 25 years. Just sayin'.

Doesn’t work that way. Betting odds change as heavy bets are placed on long shots.

The odds will change for everybody else after Bezos makes his bet, that is. He'll get that sweet 100-1 action as he brings Amazon to Halifax. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My understanding is it wont be a coastal area because HQ1 is in seattle on a fault line next to an ocean, and they're looking for a region that is low risk for environmental disasters so they if HQ1 goes down HQ2 is still going smooth. That said, the rumour is texas is most likely, even with the recent disaster there.
