    Default Iptv?

    Hello,

Just looking to see if anyone uses IPTV, and what their thoughts are on it?

My brother in law has a unit (informer MAG254/255?), which he paid a hundred and something dollars for. Additionally he paid $144 upfront for a years worth of service to live stream tv channels).

How does this compare to streaming from an android box? The box i had was a pain in the ass, and not overly reliable, so I got rid of it.

The only reason I pay for tv is for Sportsnet, and if this IPTV option is reliable, and in live time; without delay, I am considering going this route and cancelling my tv/Netflix subscriptions. I am hoping it is as simple as watching normal tv/netflix.

    Thanks!

I have IPTV and i like it a lot. I watched the Mayweather Mcgregor fight in HD and saved myself $100 bucks. (Not that i would have paid for it)

Anyway, there is a delay when i was watching the Flames game. I had both Telus and IPTV running and IPTV was about 40 seconds behind. You can buy the Mag 254 box from Amazon for $110 bucks and pay $12.50/month and get about 1500 channels and ton's of movies. Other People are getting 3000 plus channels with different subscription. You will get occasional freezing/buffering for like 10 seconds, but i hardly get it. The only thing i hate about it is the volume. Some channels are loud and other channels you have to turn it up to hear. I'm sure you'll like it, plus you'll be saving a lot of money every month.

I'm using IPTV though STB Emulator on my Mibox (Android TV 6.0), and on a less powerful one from eBay (Android 4.X), and they work decently aside from some video playback issues from time to time. Better on the MiBox since its more powerful. But being an STB emulator, i would bet money that it would be much better on an actual STB (MAG, etc.).

I think they are not talking about technicality. But more about alternative of program providers beyond Telus/Bell/Shaw.

Which IPTV provider would you recommend? I have tried CrownTV and a few others and most of the channels are like in 480i quality lol

^ I have IPTV gold and I like it. I was thinking about going with crown, but since you mentioned that it's got low quality, I think I'll stick with gold.

I don't know about other boxes, but with Mag 254 it automatically records some shows for you. All you got to do is click on the "Right arrow" My wife does this with some of the shows that she watches. However, there are boxes out there that have built in PVR.

PM me and i can give you the number of the guy that i deal with and he can answer all your questions.

How much is gold and where can I try it out? Does it have at least 720p quality?

I set my parents up with IPTVonline.ca and it seems to be pretty good. $15 a month per box

    Question for you guys:

Is the IPTV service usable on an android box like Nvidia Shield?

Also, which server would you recommend that has the least likely freezing? I've seen a lot of freezing on mag254 with the different services....
