Tax/duty and customs for multi-destination

This will be my first multi-destination holiday and I will be travelling from Hong Kong to Japan, back to Hong Kong and finally Calgary. I am planning to use my Canadian passport to enter Japan and my Hong Kong ID card entering Hong Kong. Will this cause any issue?
Also, will I have to pay tax and duty (if I am over my exemption limit) at Hong Kong and Calgary? There's a great chance that I will be over my exemption limit.

Just MAKE SURE you don't try to leave Hong Kong with your Canadian Passport if you used your HK ID to enter. You can get in alot of shit for it. Otherwise no problem at all.

I don't think they have any duty-free limits in HK, so you can bring back whatever you want from Japan to HK. However you'll definitly need to declare everything (from HK and Japan) when you come back to Calgary.

There is no sales tax in HK though there is duty for smokes and alcohol I believe.

You may be leaving a country as a person with no record of entering. It's probably not a good idea to confuse any border agent of who you are.

I entered the EU with a Canadian passport (No reutnr ticket - No other passport)

While in poland I got my Polish passport done (First time) and ended up trying to fly to Canada on my Canadian passport, since I was gone for a year I got in huge crap for it (Overstaying)

I pulled out my Polish passport that's never been used and they just let me go. When I got into Canada I showed my Canadian passport and had no issues..

Unless HK/Japan is different, but you will just need to show your Canadian passort when you arrive back in Canada you can fly HK passport out of HK and then use Canadian passport when you arrive.. I'm 90%+ sure of this.

If they ask just show the other passport and say you wanted a stam
p in that passport or something..

When you enter HK using your passport, they enter your passport data into the computer and give you a printed slip instead of stamping your passport. When you leave HK, they take back the slip and mark you as leaving HK within their computers. I imagine if you use your ID card to enter and your passport to leave, there wouldn't be a record that you entered HK and it would take longer to process your departure.
