Would like to buy a Ring doorbell, but its only rated up to -21 deg celcius. Does anyone own one of these and has had it work fine through a calgary winter?

0 issues last year for me.

There are thousands in Calgary and they work great. I wouldn't worry too much about it in low temperatures.
How do you like it? Any issues otherwise? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks for the replies. Which versions do you guys have?
Just bought the pro version from Amazon for $260.
I've got the pro. I'd really recommend the floodlight cams too. I love them.

I don't like mine. It has issues with Android phones where you can't live view on LTE/Rogers unless you turn off ipv6. I thought it was a good buy to greet delivery people, but most of the time they have left by the time I connect. Other times when I do talk to them, the package requires a signature and they can't leave it anyway. Defeats my whole purpose of buying it.
I have a POE camera at my front door also, so the Ring Pro is just a fancy doorbell now. It's not worth the $3 USD/month for me even.
No issues on iOS. Was comparing with our coworkers and Android was significantly slower to connect than iOS so I can see how that delay would be too late. When I walk to the door, my phone goes off within 1 second. Takes 2 seconds to connect. I’ve had plenty of conversations with people at the door even from India which is pretty cool.

HomeKit is still officially coming for the Pro "soon".This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Mine never wants to connect if I am on ShawOpen. I always have to turn off WiFi and connect via LTE.
Mine worked fine all of the 2016-2017 winter.

Latest cold snap killed mine.
So mad after I read this https://www.reddit.com/r/ringdoorbel..._doorbell_pro/
Basically bought a ticking time bomb.
My skybell has been fine. I think that's a pass for cold weather.
Nest hello has been solid.

mine has been very inconsistent on being able to connect on ios. Never have i been able to catch someone at the door before they're gone (delivery). A wyze cam seems like a better investment..
I've had my Ring Pro die on me during last summer. Wasn't the battery, unit kept locking up and needed hard reboot, which sucks because you have to take the damn security screw off to get to the reset button. The worst part is when it locks up, there's no alert that it's down. It's lock up every 2 months, finally decided to contact support, had a new doorbell sent to me next day. I pay for my subscription so it's apparently always under warranty when that happens?
It's run solid throughout this year's cold snap.

Mine didn't even do the random disconnects during this cold snap like it did once and a while last winter.
I almost bought one of these doorbells before I decided to just put a WyzeCam in the window and all of my research suggested the Nest Hello is a much better piece of hardware. You also benefit from Google's HDR+ algorithms which can make a big difference getting detail out of high contrast times of day.
Now if only Wyze would make a doorbell cam...apparently an outdoor camera is their next project.
I’ve fully embraced it as a system, have a Guard/Secure system going into tonight as well as a Nestcam Outdoor for the garage. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It’s not perfect, but I haven’t found anything I like better so I just keep getting more.

It is the only one with everything until amazon combines all their products under one banner. I have thermostat, indoor, outdoor, yale lock and protects. Very happy overall. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I feel the secure is overpriced though compared to what it offers vs the much cheaper ring.
