Default Basement Crack in Foundation Repair

    Hi all,

We recently moved into an older home (1950's) three level split and it's recommended by our home inspector that we get the two cracks repaired that are in the basement crawl space. Was wondering if there are any trades that people would recommend in sealing the crack and regrade the exterior near the cracks.

    Thanks in advance for help,

    Jerms

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

We discovered a crack in one of our walls last year with the insane rain. Kevin at Crackmasters did a great job with the repair. No more water coming in and they also offer lifetime warranty. Super nice guy too and walked us through everything. 403-472-7225

    I second Kevin at Crackmasters.
We had a crack on our 4 year old house/basement back in April and house insurance did not cover it as it was not considered a structural defect. Price was reasonable and no more leaking either.

What was the damage? I realize it'll be different for everyone but just wanted to get an idea on what this would cost

Crack was from top to bottom on our basement foundation, right in the middle of the east wall with no windows.
Melting snow probably started slowly seeping into the foundation expanding and contracting during the wild weather swings during winter.
Called our home builder (Morrison) and Alberta New Home and they said it may not be a structural defect as it didn't happen nearby a window.
We could have gotten an inspector to come for 100$ and wait for days for the result or pay Crackmaster to fix the crack the next day (it was either 500$ or 700$, don't remember anymore)

When we get really heavy rain I seem to get a little water run down the basement wall from where the dryer exhausts outside. I'm not a house building expert so I don't know if there's some sort of seal leaking or if it's a crack. Is this something they would look at or does there have to be visible cracks?
