XC40 subscription starts at $600/mth with a 12 months commitment.

So that's like 1 year lease with insurance included.

I think all these new services are just more flexible and less commitments but not necessary cheaper. Much like lease deals is how luxury brand move cars instead of finance or cash, this way of ownership may become the norm in the future.

Volvo has launched this service in Canada.
Pricing for V60 is $949/Month (Tax) and S60 is $1,049/Month (Plus Tax). What is interesting is that after 12 months you can walk away.

Did Porsche (or any other luxury makers) ever bring this to Canada? Don’t remember hearing anything about it after the initial announcement.

    Volvo isn't a luxury car?

Porsche hasn't launched it yet in Canada.
But with Volvo doing this I am sure the other will follow.

They get whatever they want now anyway.

All you need is for the lease not exceed term of student visa and pay the lease up front.

The way I read that program is basically a 2 year lease and an out in a year.

Not the way I read it.

It is a 2 year lease for a fully loaded Volvo. You can at the end of 12 months trade in for a new one, but if you chose not to, you are still on the hook for the remaining 12 months.

Insurance is not included in the price.

That's the way I read it as well.
It is a out in 12 months for an upgrade

Sounds like dealers in USA are suing Volvo over this program because it bypasses the dealer network for what they are claiming is just a modified lease.

Sounds like the dealers (in CA at least) didn't like Volvo turning them into rental outlets.

The majority of the Care by Volvo experience doesn't involve a dealership. However, owners will have to pick their car up at (and eventually return it to) a dealership, and the program's paid service will be performed at dealerships, as well. Dealers are paid for each subscription they handle. Care by Volvo proved so popular at its outset that its entire US allocation of XC40 SUVs sold out in just four months.

I hate dealers but they do have a point here.

Mercedes launched their program a while back, opening up a full on AMG tier.

    https://www.carscoops.com/2020/02/me...-3595-a-month/

    $3595USD a month, which is around $4600 CAD a month. Gets you access to GT63 4 door, GT-C, GT Roadster, G63, E63, S63 Coupe.

That's actually not terrible, considering it includes everything including insurance.

How do they manage seat time? If I'm in Atlanta, I'll be hoarding the GTC and G wagon all the time and not the other models.

For us poor folk. Even this is a little rich for my blood. Especially for a Nissan.

Furthermore, can you just go into the dealership and grab a new car whenever you want? or do you choose a vehicle and have a limited number of switches over a certain period of time?

Hobo Benz subscription is only $1095/mth, more than 3x less than AMG which includes insurance and give you access to fake AMG 43 lines.
