Ive never used my shopvac outside my house but i do have a leaf blower with a vacuum attachment and I have vacuumed shit off my grass in summer (we bought that black mulch and its light as shit and goes all over the place when its windy). I also plan to use it to suck up all the leaves that are everywhere if it ever stops being fucking windy.
Come to think of it I did use the same leafblower vacuum to vacuum my driveway...

Washing it down with a hose/pressure washer makes sense (especially with a soap and scrub brush), vacuuming does fuck all.

Got a neighbor that's old and retired and after he mows his lawn, he vaccums it to get every little grass clipping off it.
Takes about 2.5-3.0hrs to do the front lawn. But he starts at 7am on Saturday so by 10am he's got the back yard to do and then pretty much has the rest of the late afternoon/early evening to work on a puzzle or stare begrudgingly at the rest of the neighbors who didn't get much sleep because of the noise and stare right back.
I'll have to mention that vaccuming your house is cool now. Might be able to take his low hp electric motor noise well into the dinner hour.

Never. I've only ever swept the driveway or front walkway after doing wood work to clean up the saw dust. If there's any on the grass I just leave it. However, most times if it's a little I don't even bother and will let mother nature take care of it all.
