I approximate that every 1c difference costs you around $100 a year. Nothing to sneeze at. I'm surprised that you voted ndp, after the introduced a new tax that put thr price up 5c a litre.
PC's were going to raise taxes and possibly bring in a PST. That would have greatly beaten a 5c raise at the pump.

While I regret the decision to vote NDP, that's not one of the reasons. I'd tell prentice to his face to this day to fuck his hat.

We should have a pst. Have you seen the deficits the ndp are running? Something like $70 billion in the hole before we can vote them out.

How much of an oil company’s revenue is generated by the retail sale of gasoline and diesel? It can’t be their main revenue stream can it?

For example, lots of petroleum companies run aviation divisions. (Shell’s is HUGE.) When a single commercial airliner can uplift somewhere in the neighbourhood of 65,000 litres of Jet-A, that’s big business. What about the sale of petroleum products for use in the manufacture of plastics, etc?

^ no, we shouldn't have a pst (unless we do away with provincial income tax), we should probably be keeping more of the money we pay in to the federal group fund. We get about 1300 per capita out of that fund, or the lowest, while a place like PEI gets 3500, or quebec gets 2500. That translates in to paying the most to get the least. its like a doctor grouping his wage with a walmart employee, and the walmart employee gets to pull out 2-3x what the doctor pulls out from that fund.

You have other oil producing countries, states, whatever giving their people money. Even alaskan residents get money from oil just for living. Alaska does not have a personal income tax either. What does alberta get? a fuck you. We pay more tax than bc, and bc doesn't have oil.

    Cab/Truck driver?

1 cent difference would be much less than $100 per year for most drivers. For it to be $100 a year you would have to drive 100,000 kms per year in a car that burns 10L/100km , or 50,000 kms in something that burns 20L/100kms.

I usually don't see/respond to your posts, but somebody quoted you.

My faily commute is 45,000kms per year just for my day job. And I tow 30k kms per year on top of that across North America.

So yea, fuel prices are a "teenie" bit important to me.

People on Beyond rant and rave about saving $5/month on cell phone plans or $100/year on insurance. This has a lot bigger impact. So you know, get real yourself
    Based on this post.

Well if they hadn't been voted in in the first place, just saying.
    Will fuck off, again.

Zhao said it. I honestly feel awful for having voted NDP, its been a very hard lesson I will remember for the rest of my life. I think we were totally fucked either way since Wildrose wasnt getting in. I am now sugarphreak 2.0 in the making!
