Cineplex Seton Fire (Under Construction)

Sad to see this happen tonight as I was really hoping to have this Cineplex open soon to offload the amount of people that goes to other Cineplex theatres (and it's so close from where we live lol). Now that this happened tonight, the opening may be delayed. It wasn't a big fire but there is still smoke coming out of the east part of the building. I guess we'll see what the news will say later tonight or tomorrow..

I actually was just there as I was going to Superstore and fire crew redirected me. Outside, it looks like it’s part of the east side only. It was not big from what I could tell from the outside but We won’t know the damage inside until further news update.

Usually, there's only one IMAX in each city, each company (Cineplex, Landmark). We are lucky we have 2 IMAX's, one at Chinook and one at Country Hills Landmark Cinemas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._venues#Canada)

The fire was out when I was there, still have smoke coming out of the hole where that fire is seen from the Global news website. Doesn't seem that the walls are about to fall but I was just there for about 30 seconds as we were just driving by.

Really hoping to try the VIP theatres soon and it’s just so close from home. It appears they were aiming to open around Christmas.

Saw it last night driving to hockey, couldnt believe how many fire trucks were there. Im sure it would have been a lot worse if there wasnt a new fire station 100 yards away!

Sucks though. I was very excited to check that out and it would've been nice to have a theater so close to home.

A building doesn't need to be demolished to be a total loss.

Water and smoke damage to the rest of the structure is just as damaging as the fire itself.

Too bad, was looking forward to checking this place out!
