Every dealer is an auction buy back dealer.
I guess that was a dumb question. Haha.

They had a car there I was interested in. I called them yesterday but I'm gonna pass.
    Looking around
    Wondering what became
    Of what I once knew

People need to realize that every dealership, no matter independent or branded, certified preowned or not, has access to the exact same pool of vehicles, and on average will try the same shady tactics on you. If you do your homework, trust no one, and aren't confused by the deliberate confusion tactics, you can do fine. If you are an average gullible person, you'll get an average deal, which isn't that good.

New cars are about the same too.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?
